NEW Disney Gift Card Deals and More.

10% offers found on my US Bank card, these can be available on Chase cards too. I see some that I have on multiple Chase cards like Amazoni Fresh (5%). I also have some that aren't on my Chase but others did get it like the DG one. So worth a check on both.

Best Buy
Earn 10% cash back
Up to $23.00
43 days left: offer ends April 06
Offer valid one time only

And I might be outdated since I don't shop here usually, but if Kohl's still has GC -
Kohl's
Earn 10% cash back
Up to $7.00
42 days left: offer ends April 05
Offer valid one time only

And in a YMMV on GC but any discount on fuel or food is good in my book -
Chevron
Earn 10% cash back
Up to $5.00
42 days left: offer ends April 05
Offer valid one time only
  • Offer not valid on tobacco, alcohol, or lottery purchases.
  • (I'm encouraged by these restrictions since they indicate it's not a 'pump only ' offer. Whatever you buy inside, as long as it posts as Chevron, is fair game!)

Dining!
Earn 10% cash back
Up to $4.00
43 days left: offer ends April 06
Offer valid one time only.
  • Earn 10% cash back on your qualifying dining purchase when you spend $5 or more, with a $4.00 cash back maximum.
  • The merchant must be classified as a restaurant or fast food restaurant for purposes of this offer to qualify.
Lucky! I wonder how these offers are targeted. I keep checking and all I keep getting are offers like Nuts.com and Lamp Plus... 🙄

My target app has a glitch. I looked to see if maybe I finally had an offer and found a completed offer that has to be finished by the 29th. Guess I did it last year. Super annoyed since I haven't had a good offer in months.

I have not had great success with using DGC for LLs. If you have a far enough window, you might be okay because it takes time to input the numbers and every moment counts when securing LLs.
Once you make your selections they are held for 5 mins for you to complete your transaction. I put my gc and security code in the Notes App so I can copy/paste efficiently for each transaction. I also put a second gc in there in case I have issues with the first. No issues using them for LLs that way.

I did it last time. I think once you get to the payment screen your selections are good and won't change if you take an extra minute

This is good to know! Thank you!
I too saved my GC numbers in a note on my iPhone and just copied and pasted when buying LLMP for our January trip. It worked fine. And in fact I had 5 DGCs stored in that note - I found out a short time before that I could lock and password protect that note, which made me more comfortable storing them all there.

I have always taken LLs as a cost I could not discount but this changes the game. I appreciate this so much!

With all these layoffs/firings/closures/tariffs, anyone second guessing whether taking a vacation is a good idea, possibly taking a wait & see approach?

We decided last year to not travel in 2025 with anticipation of staying in Japan 2026 for 3 weeks, maybe four, but that is becoming a wait & see for us. I've already purchased a few MC/Visa for stateside travel, I'm thinking of holding off for the remainder of the year until we know more.
I’m thinking of canceling our Xmas Disney trip in 2025. I’m Dvc and exploring renting out a confirmed ressie or just the points. The amount I’m spending this year on our other trips makes me cringe. I have like 160+ banked points that I’d lose by Feb 2026 so need to use or lose.

We are heading to Asia for almost 2 months this summer. Worried about the strength of the dollar. Worried about another pandemic (bird flu) and boarders shutting against the United States bc CDC is a mess and pandemic ppl are no longer working or morale is low.

Flight tickets are 10k alone (4ppl @ $2.5k pp) so not going to or can’t cancel. Even if I could, we are committed bc last chance to fly out as a family (son in 9th grade and after this summer it’s internships or sat studying etc— college stuff) Airbnb already booked. There’s only 4 days of hotel in Japan and 7 days in Taiwan that’s subject to local currency. But we still have to eat. And Tokyo Disney.

Our trip to Denver (breckenridge) is mid march and set. It’s going to be $$ (ski school for kids). But it’s next month.

My biggest fear is our Asia trip. On so many levels. Pandemic shut down Japan of Taiwan closing its borders to the US (which they did in 2020) + inflation. I’ve got $20k already down before hotels and food costs. I need to buy insurance…. Thx for the reminder!!!!!!

Oh yes, DH in academic medicine. So far his NIH grants won’t affect him personally but it’s another reason to go into private practice (research to help the field is so overrated and underpaid, so with the NIH getting butchered….). Also congress cut Medicaid/medicare payments yet again. Insurance is denying upwards of 33% (UHC) of pre-approvals etc. So things are just overall one big worry for me.

Thank you for giving me a venue to vent ;). Now onto researching travel insurance!!!

Was planning European trip but canceling as we are pretty sure we won’t be welcome there.

Have fun! Tokyo Disney is fantastic, I was almost going to go there this summer but we decided to trim back and are staying with family in Kyoto instead for a little jaunt. I think you should be ok as their economies are still recovering from covid and I think they would throw a fit despite being in asia. Just be prepped for mask requirements.

…..I mean you could practice an Australian accent…..but also, such my fear. I am going with my British accent 🤣

Should clarify that wasn't mocking, totally serious. I live near a lot of military bases when I stay in Japan and sometimes a serviceman does something absolutely horrific....and I am to ashamed to represent myself as an American with those people being the symbol of my nation, so I pretend to be from somewhere else if they ask lol. Those that know me understand, but....yea...

Within the last two days, I've gone to two different places that had a 3% CC surcharge. One was the BMW dealership where I was getting routine maintenance done and the other was the local mexican restaurant. I usually don't carry much cash because I like to earn points so I had to suck it up and pay. I felt like crying each time. I think I'm going to have to start carrying more cash on me now because this is extra money I don't need to spend.

Debit surcharge too? One of our dealers surcharges cc & debit for maintenance & it blows my mind. Why do you want so much cash around waiting to get robbed?!

Get on the insurance asap. Some plans you need to buy within x days of making purchases.

No surcharge if I used my debit card but I don't have a habit of carrying it on me. I think. I need to start. So I ended up being able to add it to my Apple Wallet but my pin supposedly wasn't correct? I tried twice so I just sucked it up and paid with my CC. Thankful it was only a $300+ bill and not the $3000 I dropped there in Dec when I got new tires plus other work. The CC surcharge is new and started in January.
