New Disney Files

Is it just me or does the current issue of the Disney Files feel much more informative and a lot less like a DVC ad brochure as in the past?

Maybe starting to feel Claire's influence here? I sure hope so!

I'm too new a member (2009) to have known the previous incarnation of the members magazine, but from what I heard, many long timers miss it because it because it was not only a glorified sales material but contained informations about all things Disney.

Interested in other opinions.

WOW! I thought it was just me. I started reading it at work today and thought there is so much more in this issue than in the past. I hope they keep it up. I enjoyed it a lot.

I thought this was a great issue. So much more informative and lots of Disney history. For the first time in many issues I actually read it from cover to cover. Thanks, DVC!

I thought it was far better this quarter but there was still 2 pages of Deevey, which is two pages too much imo.
There was however a quote from a DVC family on the Deevey page saying how much they love her so maybe they are just trying to cater to all tastes. She is the reason we don't go the WHW. I just can't bear her.

Before I get flamed, I am sure the the actress who plays her is lovely and she does a fine job. I just find the whole concept of her very irritating.

My ideal issue of Disney Files? Rename it something more apt, like Vacation Magic. Then fill it with just DVC news and information. Like information about our resorts, including the older ones, about the CMs working at our resorts, menu changes and recipes from our resort dining facilities, RCI discussion of the most popular RCI exchanges, explanation/clarification of rules such as occupancy, just what goes into a renovation, etc. Oh, maybe one page of WDW/DL stuff.

I enjoyed the magazine, and read it cover to cover, but that was usual for me. I've always enjoyed "how did the picture change" in the newspaper and in this magazine. I'm not a DeeVeeCee fan but she has them. I liked reading the history of DVC, and I enjoyed the Members' pictures. Once they published one of my family, so I know how thrilled those contributors are.
