New Disney Access Road

Resort News - (9/15/05) The Orlando Sentinel reports that Walt Disney World is building a new entrance road on the west side of their property that will connect to a new toll road under construction and lead right to the Florida turnpike to the north, syphoning all of the tourist traffic right into WDW and away from the I-4 tourist corridor. Scheduled to open sometime in 2006, the new four lane road is called Western Way and I actually noticed it when I visited Animal Kingdom last week but had no idea what it was. It connects right to West Buena Vista Road on the right just past the Coronado Springs resort when your on your way to Animal Kingdom from the Studios.

Ive not seen this mentioned before and not on any maps. Does the construction impact upon any of the 'Western' villa communities as Im on an Allocated on Arrival package for a villa and clearly do not want one on the side of a construction site.

On a positive, it sounds like this might really help access for those in the highway 27 area unless I've gotmy geography wrong.

The new toll road that the western way connects to called the Western Beltway and could impact the Emerald Isle/WIndsor Palms/Indian Creek area. Don't think the new Disney Road itself will have much effect There have been topics posted previously on the Western Beltway- I'll have a quick search and see what links I can find

There is also a new road that will in fact go from the west side of Disney and run parallel to the 192 through lake county towards the 27 north of the 192 as far as i know .
