new discover card cash back reward offer

I already have a discover card and I just received a new cash back reward offer. I starts 8/1/14 and groes through 12/31/14. I have to spend $1000 on my card for each month and I can earn $200 cash back. The only thing Disney I can see to spend the money on is Rainforest Cafe GC. I have used my points to get a GC for Alamo for a rental car. I was going to check if Kohl's has GC for any GC that I can use for Disney.

my sister and I both got a Discover rewards special offer this year (different than this one); the offer came in the US Mail. Hers was last winter, mine was in May

I've gotten these offers a few times.

(They come to you... You can't seek them)

Gas is 5% thru Sept... So definately fill up with Discover.

Check what bills you can pay on credit card and put them on your discover. I can pay cell phone, cable, electric, with a Discover card.

I got mine when I signed on to my account onlineto pay my bill . it was on the right hand side. I think it was called bonus offers.

We sign up for the quarterly bonuses. I was just wondering if there was a specific for this one. Have not received anything in the mail about it. The last offer from Discover was a coupon for travel. I will be on the lookout!

Why wouldn't you just take the cash back and use it for your Disney trip? You don't have to get a gift cards.

I think the OP wants to buy gift cards to reach her spending goal on her Discover so she can get the extra cash back.

Is this offer in addition to the cashback you get already? I'm always on the lookout for a great cc program!
This would be 4% (spend 5k over 5 months with $200 back, is that right?) so not as good as other cards if that's all you get, but excellent if you still get your cashback in the other categories!

Seems like a good deal if you only have to spend $5k to get the $200.

I was considering signing up for the Fidelity Visa. You get 1.5% back on the first $15k charges each year and then 2% back after that. 2% back is a great deal.

my offer was $75 cash back if I spent $1500 over 3 months. NO way I can charge $2000/month either; too many bills charge a fee for credit card payments.

you still get your original bash back. So for Aug and Sept. if I spend $1000 on Gas, Eating out and groceries(I think) I get 5%. In January if I spent the $1000 each month than I will get the bonus $250.
