New discounts to be released aug 14th?

Thanks everyone. I went to AAA today and the other TA called disney for me. They put it on credit for me, so when we arrive at disney we'll have money toward all of our tips at our TS meals. Thanks for your help! And it did save me an extra $301.00 on top of the $200 that AAA had already saved me. So, that makes me happy.:goodvibes

We had something similar when we bought our car in November. When we went to the dealership we had 1 salesman. It was getting late in the evening so we asked if we could come back the next evening to pick up the car. No problem. When we went back we kept waiting for our salesman and he wasn't there. Finally, we found the manager and said "where is he- we've been waiting...." The manager found another salesman to go over the car with us. Afterwards, we went back to the manager to voice our complaint and that the 2nd salesman should get the commission because he spent more time with us than the first salesman.

Well, I do really like our TA, she is a friend from church. I don't think she really understood the package deal (from what someone told me they don't offer these in Oct. very much). I am put off that she didn't make an effort, it only took the other TA 10 minutes to do everything. So, I am just happy that it all worked out. I am a very excited person.

Actually they do, and have for the past several Octobers. ;) Hopefully the TA has learned a valuable Disney lesson. Glad it worked out for you!

i just booked 5 nites in october at AKL - the cast member told me he used QXG for the room (pool view, bunks at $255) and QXD for the dining- but when i crunched the numbers afterwards there was no dining discount. i called back and was told i have the best available discount on the package- paying $2962 for 5 nites, dining plan and 6 day PH - -but as mentioned the origin guy said he applied a discount for both room AND dining -

can anyone shed some light on this? are there separate codes for rooms/ dining - and should my dining be discounted too?

btw - 3 adults, 1 kid-

thanks so much!

I thought that I had read on here that you cannot "stack" discounts/that you could only apply one. :confused3

I think that what the CM meant is he used the code that they use when booking the discounted room as a package with dining. The discounts are on the room portion only, but they use a different three letter code depending on if it is a MYW pkg, MYW w/ ddp, MYW w/DxDDP, etc.

thanks for clarifying- i was worried that he made a mistake - so i guess his applying the code was correct- but perhaps his explanation was a bit lacking. thanks for helping me with this...

someone beat me to it.. darn! anyway, they are right. you book a package with room and tickets. the discount code is for the room. you can ALSO book a package with the room ticket, AND dining. hence, the 2 dif. codes. the cost of the tickets and dining remain the same.
there are so many dif. discounts, it makes your head spin. sometimes they offer TICKET discounts: buy X amount of days, and get the hopper and water parks for free. sometimes they offer ROOM ONLY discounts (not packages).. IT does take some research and number crunching to find the discount just right for YOUR family!
be aware that any PACKAGE has a dif. cancellation policy than ROOM ONLY ressies. you book a package, you pretty much need to be sure 45(?) days ahead of time that you are going. room only, I think it's only 5 days.
