New discounts to be released aug 14th?

I called her and she hadn't even checked on it. She didn't think we would get anything and that she would check when she was back in on Monday!! I e-mailed JoanieS's thread to show her what type of discount she received. I am going to be upset if I am not able to get this. Did any of you already have your package booked and then they added this discount and you'll get your money back. Or did you just book your vacation today?

Geez, thats just not right. Go to www.disneyworld.com. Towards the bottom of the page click on the box that says "wake up in the middle of the magic". You will then be able to price out your vacation with the new discounted rates. At least that way you will be able to see what the difference in price is. If you need help, PM me.

Ok, I did this and it shows I should save $300.00 , I just hope that on Monday I'll still be able to receive this. Thanks everyone, say a little prayer (that savings will pay for my MNSSHP tickets :goodvibes )

Why can''t you just book it yourself with the code and then cancel the reservation you have with the TA? Or did you already mention that?

That's exactly what I would do, and I would tell her why I was doing it!

Ours was booked and paid in full. We will have to wait for corporate AAA to cut a check back from us for the $524.

I am having the same problem with my travel agent! She could not attach the code, yet my friend who booked on their own did it with no problem. They had the exact same reservation as us, but NO travel agent. I guess we have learnt a very expensive lesson.:sad2:

I called at 7 this morning, and I could not change my reservation, since it was booked through a TA. But, I asked them about POFQ and 2 different CM's told me there were no discounts for that. My TA managed to get it though!

I booked a MYP for 10/10-10/16 7-day PH/WP for 2 at the POP and the total was $1,476.22. So I call today and try to use the QXD code which worked (I tried DGE,QXG,DGL,UVL as well) but the CM told me the cost was still the same.

I'm wondering how that is possible. Shouldn't it be cheaper?

This is only my second time to Disney and the first time trying to use this whole code thing which I love that this board is here.

For those who have trouble with AAA...

It depends VERY MUCH on the TA. I made a rez. (hold) last week in preparation of a Monday code. I asked what if a code comes out and if anyone else could apply it. She said no probl, she warned me of the days she would be out (today and next week!). And she noted on the rez. that any other TA could make changes.

Of course, code comes out today while she's scheduled vacation. HOWEVER, at 6:45am she sends an email stating she applied the new discounts to the existing one.

Later in the morning, I called AAA and was able to get another TA. Though she suggested I call back tomorrow, I insisted that the new codes were out and tomorrow might be too late as there was limited availability.

AAA still had to call WDTC to change the existing rez. She offered to call me back as there was a very long wait. I asked her to check availability in the mean time via internet, so she did (found CSR was sold out, and CBR was open). And eventually switched my rez.

Bottom line, a new TA doesn't want to talk to you for an existing rez as the original one will get the commission. And they won't let you book two rez.

It does matter who you get and talk to.

do you think I should wait till my TA comes in on Monday or should I go and insist another TA do it. There are only two out our office and I've worked with both. I've thought that if she didn't I'd tell her I'm going home to book my own trip and to cancel ours. We will save $300 and that's a lot when you consider that will help a lot with gas or our party tickets.

DO NOT WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If the other TA won't do it first thing in the AM then I would call and do it yourself and then cancel with them AND TELL THEM WHY YOU ARE CANCELLING!!! There is no way they deserve to earn any commission on this! :sad2:

I agree you should book your own trip and cancel the one with the TA. A friend of mine did the same thing today. Her TA went on vacation this week and the agency was not answering their phones. I told her she can always cancel the ressie she makes today if the TA can apply the code next week. Otherwise, cancel the ressie with the TA. Money is money. For my friend, it was $500.

This is why a home-based agent is your best bet. They work from home and are on call 24/7 and can book, change, etc. 24/7. They don't say "oh I'll get to it later, tomorrow, next week", etc.

AAA is not going to be there 24/7 the same way many Disney Travel Planners would. Feel free to PM me if you need a referral!

Good luck to all trying to save some $$ :thumbsup2

If it were me, at this point, I would book my own and cancel with the TA. This is YOUR money - not there's. Even if it's $5 it's $5 in your pocket. As you've seen all day, the codes can disappear at some resorts, but, don't give up cause openings happen all the time as people change their reservations. I cancelled one this afternoon at CSR since I didn't have to stay on hold for a long time with CRO. Otherwise, I was planning on changing it this weekend.

So is this it? Will there be no codes for those of us who don't need tickets?

HOw did some get the free dining code? THANKS!

The free dining offer is over. I believe the person who posted about free dining was asking if they could add another discount to the free dining they received for their stay. This promotion is for different dates, although it doesn't matter as the codes aren't stackable. You can only get one discount per reservation.

As for whether there will be room only codes coming out, one can hope. Last year the room only codes weren't released until the end of September. I

didn't need tickets either, but I still booked the MYW package today and ended up saving $230 on the room by booking it with a one-day base ticket. You might want to try that and see if you end up saving on your room.

Absolutely. I would make a whole new reservation and cancel the one with the travel agent. At least that way you'll have a better shot at getting the resort you want available with the discount.

I didn't read this entire thread so the AP code I received may be in this. My code is SXS and is on the WDW website for $54 per night starting Sept 28. The code is good through near Christmas. There are different rates for different timeframes but I noticed that the code listed on Mousesavers for AP is a different 3 letter code as well as the rate starting at $74 per night for AP on the same date. I did apply the SXS code to my existing reservation and got the 54 per night for Sept 28-Oct 1 and $74 for Oct 2 and 3. Just my experience today on the new code.
