New Discounts after August 8? Any Guesses?

Do you think there will be new discounts announced after August 8 which is the last date to book the current free dining special? Wishful thinking that the free dining promo would be changed to include the last 2 weeks of August... or is the room discount special the last thing for August. Also, hopeful that there will be more dates for free dining in October. Dates in October are mostly blocked. In the past, seems like there is free dining and that ends... then the room discount is the remaining offer.

most likely a RO for the rest of the year, I think the current one only covers the first few days of October.

Current RO discount goes until Oct. 3rd. I am presuming a general RO discount.....the question is- how much?

What is 'the norm' for a discount? Is it normally 15% at values, 20% at mods and 25% at deluxes?

Call if you are in the last weeks of august. There is a discount not being promoted. I had to make a change on my reservation the other day and the previous promotions never covered it. I received a $1,200 refund on the WL stay for 8/28-8/31. Good luck!

I tried to add tickets to my room only reservation for the last week of Oct. The CM told me to hold off until Aug. She said to watch for a discount. I hope she's right!

It's totally going to be a RO discount for the rest of the year. I'm speculating but it's probably 15-20% off values, 20-25% off mods and 30% off deluxes. Probably AoA, POFQ, and BLT will be at 5% since they're not usually heavily discounted. And of course, certain room view at some places will be a better deal than others--AKL's standard and pool view are usually a much higher percentage off than the savanna and club level rooms.

I remember free dining being available for many more dates and much more availability. I also remember the discount on deluxe resorts (our 2009 Polynesian stay) at 38% discount! And since 2008, I've only received ONE PIN and it was no better than the already public special! I wish Disney was a little less costly for repeat customers... the value just isn't there for me when other vacation options (cruises, all inclusive vacations, local amusement parks) are more attractive for a less expensive vacation. I will have to wait for our next trip.... August is too hot to sweat in Orlando without a major discount.
