New D23 Expo Superthread! (6/24/2019)

Ok so what's with all the chairs? I wasn't going to bring my 1.8 lb. chair that easily folds in my backpack because I thought they were going to be strict with the rules this time.

I see the chairs in this video too and they look bigger than my chair:
After going through the trouble of finding a replacement that doesn't break the rules and not getting a chair I hope they enforce the rules. Maybe these people will throw it out once they're in?

I definitely clicked no - I am by myself... but I have yet to hear of anyone saying they received an email with a "No" -- if I have a guest, I'm happy to invite friends, but don't want to give them false hope if it turns out this email is incorrect. I only question because it's not like we've received false starts yet for this Expo ;)
People on Facebook are also reporting the surprise guests on the most recent email, so it looks like it might be yet ANOTHER bug that causes new headache.

Since it's still an unofficial line, we won't know until the official one begins tomorrow if they will actually be enforcing the "no folding chair" rule.

I got mine....it says I’m bringing a guest for all of mine...I did not sign up for that.... can I trust this email? Did anyone get one that says “No” under guest?

Still waiting for my email. One panel I marked as two and the other I just selected myself. Oddly enough, the reservation confirmation email from Saturday shows 3 panels tho. However on the confirmation screen I only selected and planned to go to 2. Hopefully everything's alright on the backend of things.

Update: Just got the email, and it says party of 2 for all which I know is incorrect. :/

Yeah, that's what I'm "afraid" of... I was confident I clicked "no" but then have been second guessing thinking I mis-read the question and it was a double negative? lol I dunno --- will wait to hear the official word.

Ok this is a little weird. On the app and in my email I have four show passes for Sunday. Two were ones that were confirmed on the day of reservations and the other two were then ones we tried for first but there was an error and the it was full. I’m not complaining, I just think it’s weird and want to know if it happened to anyone else.

Not this exact thing, but I kept getting an error, then I tried again and it said I had a scheduling conflict. I had nothing scheduled for that time and it showed I only had one pass and it was in the late afternoon. Then I got the email and it showed I had a pass for it.

Me too. I clicked No every time but the email I got today said I was bringing a guest to each of the six stage pass sessions. Wonder if that will be honored or not?

Just watched on youtube D23 which queue is for you video and I still have a questions. It was mentioned "Stage Pass" ck in for Hall D23 is in Hall E.

Now my question is WHERE is the Stage Pass check in for the Arena ?? Trying to make sure I get in for the 10:00 am; I have stage pass and Gold Membership. Does anyone have any suggestions?? I'm flying in early and will head over right after I land. Thanks

Is that unofficial queue for will call or for the Hall E that is supposed to start on Thursday, do you know?

I am getting afraid and concerned that these email errors will result in “oversold” panels & signings with not enough room for those with reservations and thus no room at all for the standby queues...will have to see if the badge scans match the emails or if the emails are incorrect.

Arena queues for both Gold and Stagepass will be on the show floor next to Center Stage. So get in the line for the show floor. If you arrive early enough to make it into the overnight queue, as the video states you will line up by the entrance you want to enter. For the Arena you'll want to enter from Hall A. However, since you have a stage pass I don't think overnight queueing is necessary, especially for the Arena. You should probably be fine arriving around 6am (or later, but erring on the side of caution until we know how security lines will be this year).

Well I am starting a GoFundMe account that may or may not be connected to my newly available “guests” on my Expo email...

:rolleyes1

My only solace is that in the Which Queue video they say "the majority of attendees will be in the standby line" which shouldn't be possible unless reservations do not account for as many of the seats as we are assuming.

I saw this as well. I really think people were overestimating the percentage of stage passes available.

Wow, the last 24/48 hrs have been crazy, so I have only skimmed the Dis. As it is, my alarm goes off in 10 minutes and I start my journey to CA. I cannot believe the line up already for the expo.

Looks like once I get to the airport, I need to go back over the past couple days of the thread and check out the latest D23 videos.

My best tip is to pack your patience. If you are short-tempered and very attached to what's FAIR, you're going to be challenged.
Be prepared to have lines shift and change...
This! And please discuss a plan with your family/friends/group about what to do if you get separated in the lines or at an event. When the staff starts shifting the lines and moving guests around, things can happen very quickly. The CMs/ACC staff aren't looking at who's together with whom -- they're just counting heads (if they're even that organized!) -- so it is very possible that people can be shoved into different groups or lines and then sucked into different sections within minutes. Be prepared to think and to move quickly to prevent being separated from family members or from older kids (especially if they're not paying attention to where you are). DH and I got separated a few times at the last Expo and learned to speak up fast and loudly -- and to move fast if we saw a barrier coming down. We also designated a meeting spot if we got separated at an event so that we knew where to go afterward.
