I just called due to another thread and I did get the credit for 20% on my prepayment. The CM indicated there was a pull down for the 20% off. You need to ask for it. If you forget, call back. Or as another person indicated, call back once you join if you haven't already.
AWESOME!!

So glad you got the discount! DDE is awesome for those of us not doing a package. When I inquired about adding on the DDP, I would have to add four base tix+ the DDP,(already have AP's for the family) all together came to over $1200 for 5 days. :rotfl: If we eat $1200 worth of food in 5 days, just roll me back home! :rotfl2:
Since we got our POP room so cheap, just didn't make sense for us.

lisabarr - I think you are thinking about the Dining Plan. The DDE is the Disney Dining Discount that you purchase that allows 20% off your TS meals for up to 10 people.

We purchased it last year and had it paid off for in 2 or 3 meals with 10 of us.

No, I was just comparing the two and saying I preferred the DDE not the DDP :teeth:

When did you call and and try to add the DP? I was under the impression that if you have an AP or DVC that it was not ticket dependent. In other words it cost $37.99 per day. I know DVC is this way, but as I said, I thought AP was as well... basically that they changed it this year. If you didn't call before Jan 1, you may want to call again and see that is the case.

It most def is ticket/package dependent. Can't use AP rates. Now for DVC members it's different. I believe you can just add on the DDP. AP, they make you buy a ticket for each member of your party for one day + pay the rack rate. No way!!!

You still didn't answer my question about when you called and tried to add the Dining plan. I could understand it being this way during the first year, but given that even point renters at DVC don't have to have a ticket, this just doesn't seem logical to me. Granted, Disney does a lot of illogical things,
but if you haven't called recently, then it might have changed. if you called since Jan 1, then Disney is being impractical and I would bet that it will change eventually; provided you stayed on property. I just don't understand why Disney would alienate a portion of their customers when they can make more money by insuring that the AP holder would stay and eat at Disney.

Unfortunately, Disney is being illogical. I called last week and when she told me how much it would be, I nearly fell over :rotfl2: with laughter. Hopefully Disney will get a clue and allow AP holders the same perks as DVC members with the dining plan. I just don't understand why they wouldn't but for now thats the story! :rolleyes2
