New contract - 400 or 2 200?

While I agree with all the posts saying the smaller contracts are better, the one thing not yet mentioned is that Disney is going to start charging closing costs for new member contracts (not for add-ons).
If they start doing that, then you want to buy one contract (for 200 points for example) and pay one closing cost. Then buy the other as an add-on.

John I heard it was add on or new contracts DVC would start charging for closing....

if it is only new contracts - then that is fine...

still hoping for a DVC at Cont or Polyn..... :rotfl:

From July's Vacation Magic:

Members don't pay closing costs
Disney Vacation Club leaders have received questions from Members regarding closing costs on the purchase of Ownership Interests in Disney Vacation Club Resorts.

Vacation Magic is pleased to report that Members who purchase additional Ownership Interests in Disney Vacation Club Resorts currently do not pay closing costs on those transactions, and no changes to that policy are planned at this time.

Note: It doesn't say anything about "new" members, so who knows.... I couldn't imagine them charging for closing though.

If they charge for each one, it will be a factor. Likely not worth an extra $400 per contract, but worth maybe $150-200 extra per. I doubt they'll end up charging closing or possibly only one per purchase and not one per individual contract bought at the same time.

i would buy smaller contracts... if you watch the resale boards these seem to go faster and for a slight premium.

I liked the 150/100/100/50 model... BWV will remain a desirable property, so if you have smaller increments you can always sell part of it, and then buy into other resorts as they come open (if are of interest).

good luck.
