I am off the waiting list! I have AP's so I went ahead with using the best rate program and booked the POP for 59/night for Nov 30th !! YAY !!

I'm waiting on rates for Oct. 8-16. When I checked last week, I had a quite unhelpful CM. She wouldn't make any comment on the upcoming release of AP rates and hung up on me before I got to ask about AAA rates. I was quoted rack for AKL.

Count me in too. We are now going to Disney in November. Have to go to a family gathering Florida so we figured while we are there we will just to to Disney too.

Just have to go to work tomorrow and see what actual week. The gathering is on the 12th so it might be before or after. T

Once that is done I have to start preparing a letter to get my son excused from school. I always believe that school should not be missed but after last school year my feelings change. Having extra snow days and making long weekends from May to June to use them up did me in. Now I will go on vacation when I want to.

I'm waiting, and trying to be patient, for AP code for December. We'll be there 12/4-12/14. Booked at POR. Need those AP rates or we'll be switching to a value resort or going off site.

I've been lurking on this thread a while, but broke down last week and booked a split stay (4@POP, 4@PO-R, and 1@AKL) thru BEST RATE. The three deposits were a big $, but you've got to pay for them sometime, right? We'll be at WDW Nov 19-28th. I'm glad the stress of waiting for the release of AP discounts is off my shoulders. Now, I just have to deal with the fun and games of booking our sit-down meals. I'll still be lurking to see if you all get the same rates as I or better. Good luck all!

I am with you. We recently booked 3 nights at the Dolphin with AP rate and 6 nights at AKL with the Best Rate plan for 11/24 to 12/03 time frame. I was afraid to not book with Best Rate because if AP rate are very limited I didn't want to take the change and miss something. We stayed at AKL in Jan and paid $160 a night. The Best Plan rates are much higher. If we would have been able to get the Swan or Dolphin for AP rate the entire 9 nights, we would have stayed there the entire time. Good luck on everyone waiting for a code in Oct/Nov/Dec time frame. I am keeping my fingers crossed for you. It will be interesting to see what the traditional AP rates will be and what they will do with us Best Rate folks. I have visions of AP rates being offered for the types of rooms Best Rates were not offered so our rates will stay the same. I am starting to think it is too bad I really love Disney. Maybe my DH is right - we should start thinking of some other vacation options. But the thought of no more Disney makes me sad.

We always visit during school vacations, so getting a room in itself can sometimes be a challenge. This will only be our second trip actually getting a discounted room. I've usually had to pay rack rate even tho our family held AP's. It was a lot of stress getting those discounts last time. Playing the waiting/guessing game made for a lot of lost sleep and early mornings.

Has to be booked 120 days out. For some people, that doesn't work.

Because it's non-refundable. We can't commit in stone to the dates yet.

when best rate was launched we were already under 120 days so were no eligible for best rate program, so we have to wait it out for the traditional release of codes.... I would have loved to have been able to book using best rate given we commit to flights and rooms 10 months in advance but this is not an option.

A friend of mine decided on Tuesday (7/26) to take a mini-trip to WDW on Thursday (today, 7/28). I warned her that the AP discount rate program had changed. She called to make her room reservation, and the CM asked if she needed tickets. She told them no, that she has an AP, and they offered her the AP rate. This was two days before check-in.

You can always try and call anyway.

Getting a regular AP rate is different than booking the "Best Rate" program...

You must have a trip sometime around the second week in October - we really got a bad deal, didn't we?!

When Best Rate was released on June 17, it was already past 120-days. Plus, the free dining ends October 4. So October 5-15 really got squeezed out. I keep dreaming of a deal coming out just for those of us who are going too late for free dining and too early for Best Rate. I even booked way in advance!

I sound like my kids - it's just not fair!
