Another good point to the law is that it puts more children on even ground. Our DS was quite small for his age and was not yet 45 lbs when he started kindergarten.(That was the weight requirement for a seat belt at that time.) He HATED getting out of the car at school drop off from a booster seat. We made him ride in it anyway but it would have been easier to do if most of the classroom children were also in seats. WE always told DS that he rode in the seat to be safe not because of the law but if it takes a law to keep all children safer then that is what we need.

Please be aware that more injuries occur to kids under 80 lbs at amusement parks than on our highways.

What kind of injuries are you talking about? I would also like to see a link to this info. The injuries I am talking about are internal. The internal injuries that a wreck can have on a child 80 pounds and under and not in a carseat are pretty high and the injuries are dangerous.

I just did a little research on the net. I didn't find anything at all about children being injured at asmusement parks. The leading causes of injuries or death for children seems to be falls, motor vehicle accidents, and drowning. There are a lot more injuries caused by vehicle accidents than injuries at amusement parks. Someone is injured every 12 seconds in a car accident. If people were injured at that rate at amusement parks I think they would go out of business.
