New children’s event at the Grand Floridian Resort…

I decided to work my way up from the bottom, so to speak. My daughter and I just returned from shopping; I bought her some new shoes. On our next shopping trip, I will aim a little higher, like either a skirt or a dress. I'm taking it one piece at a time. I figure it's easier that way. ;)

I noticed a change to the official Disney Gallery website regarding the last four days of the My Disney Girl Princess Grand Tea Party event. I left a phone message for Event Services asking them about the change. When I hear from them, I’ll let you know what I find out. In the meantime, here is the change (and I will post it on the first page of this thread, too):

Oh, how I wish WDW would keep this event! My DD would love it at Xmas!

Well, I just called and found out about the cameo pins. Tina told me that each girl would recieve one on the dates listed. I asked about the dates previous and she said, "no, only if you attend on one of those dates will you receive a pin." I was kind, but I did let her know I was disappointed as we will be attending on Oct 26. Do you think they have added this because those dates are not sold out? Why would they give them to some and not others? Do you think that those going on the other dates will receive something else? (I don't want to sound greedy but we are all paying $200.)

Also, I asked if they were planning to have a professional photographer (hint, hint). She said she would check and let me know. I'll keep you posted!

I booked this for DW and DD on November 1st, and I'm glad I did.

Yes, you can have the experience of a GF Tea Party, but this is a special event they may not continue (doubt they won't though). I'm glad they added that they girls will get a cameo pin, that'll be cool!

As for attire, DW is bringing along a nice dress and DD is going to be wearing her Cinderella Dress I made for her. She knows it's the wrong princess costume and will also be wearing it for MNSSHP, but that's her choice. :)

I will post a report with pictures when we return after 11/6, maybe something short sooner...

Jfulcer, I have it on good authority that there is no such thing as the wrong princess costume. princess: Have no fear.

I received an email from Event Services today and they stated that there would NOT be a professional photographer at any of the tea parties. They said you were more than welcome to bring your own camera. Too bad, I was hoping they would have a photographer, it would have given me one less thing to worry about.

Is anyone going on Oct. 23? If so, please post about it as soon as possible! If not, I'll try to post when I get back for those going the next weekend.

re: The Wonderland Tea Party - we've done it and it's wonderful, but it's only for children up to age 10. My DD is 12 (almost 13) and still loves the princesses, so I'm glad they made this party available for 'older' princesses!

How many of us are attending and when?

We'll be at the Princess Tea Party on Sunday, Oct 26. It is me, my dd (6yo), my ds (47yo, yes she is way older!) and her dd (5 yo).

Anyone else?

We'll be home on Monday and I'll post a report then.

Me (43) and DD (12) will be there on Saturday, Oct. 25.

Still no luck in finding something to wear...guess it'll be fall dresses after all!

Daughter, husband, and I will be there on the 26th. I will be sure to say hello to your group, Honeychild.

Praise2Him, we'll be transferring over to the GF on the 25th. If we check in by noon, I'll try to take a peek into your party (but more than likely, I will just sit in the lobby and watch everyone's smiling faces as they leave the event). Have a wonderful time at the party.

Bubblefactory, I loved your photos. Thanks for posting the link to them. I just got back from WDW late yesterday and I haven't had a chance to load any of my photos into my on-line photo album. I'll try to do so later on this week and post a link to them here. By the way, my family had a wonderful time at the new tea party. It looks like yours did, too.

Hi Janet,

Thanks, I'm glad you liked the photos.

I hope you enjoyed the party as much as Paula and Lois did. We completed a survey at WDW and in the comments asked for it to be continued.

Alec

Thank you for posting your pictures and giving us who did not get to attend a little peek!

Hi All!

Any word on wether or not they are extending the Tea Party?
I am dying here. We will be there in January and since DD (6) who was sick for Halloween would love this. She was going to be Sleeping Beauty. Wouldn't that be so adorable.
Thanks, Wendi

DW took almost an hour of video tape in addition to these pictures, and I've not even had a chance to see it yet. We also got one of the Princess Cameo pins but I need to take a picture of it to post it.

DW thought she certainly got her money's worth and hopes they continue it for the future. She wishes they could have had a little more time with Aurora but the host more than made up for that (her words).

The way she talked about it, the host (I forget her name) pretty much made the whole event very nice. Definitely something to book if they do it in the future!

Jeff, thanks for sharing your pictures. Your daughter is beautiful. princess: I hope this sticks around for a long time. My DD is only 10 months. Proabaly when she is four. Is this enough advance notice for you to make her dress? ;) :teeth: jk

I wish they offered something this grand for boys. After looking at the pictures, I don't think boys will really enjoy this. The whole thing is so girly.

Oh well, maybe they'll think up something special for the little guys soon.
