OK we are buying a new vehicle. I am driving the Odyssey. I love it and we are keeping it.

DH wants either the new CRV or Pilot. We don't really need the space of the Pilot since we have the van but it's a great deal w/ some incentives.

The CRV has no deals but is better on gas. So here is our options:

1. Pilot - new, bare bones, bigger - more value- the lower model- don't really like the colors
2. CRV -new, loaded - leather, sunroof etc.- love the blue one

about the same price

We are torn. Which would you choose?:confused3

Please I'm torn. I need opinions. We have to decide soon.

Thanks!!

I bought the 2006 CR-V in July...absolutely love it, thought I know the model changed in 2007. I would go for the CR-V and better gas mileage.

I think the CR-V loaded will be easier to sell when all is said and done as well.

I would go with the loaded and better gas milage but I'm also looking at the H3 so I have no room to talk.

If you plan to keep it a long time I would go with the one you really like the best (which sounds like the CRV). If you will only keep it a couple years then I would also consider the resale value. We own a Pilot and absolutely love it. I particularly love that I can fit my kids and their friends in it without having to bug my DH for his truck. I personally like more space over frills but it is really just personal preference.

Is there a chance you may need more space in the next several years? If so, I'd go with the Pilot. If not, then I'd stick with the CRV. Good luck! :shamrock:

P.S. Not liking the color would be a deal-breaker for me!

How many kids do you have and how old is the van?

we have two kids and will only have two kids. The van is a 2000 w/ 60,000 miles. Runs great. We want to get a new car and have it paid off before we sell the van.

Since we already have a big car size really isn't the issue. My DH likes how the Pilot drives just a tad more but the gas is what is leaning him to the CRV. Me- I like the frills.

Go for the CRV with the frills.:thumbsup2

Trust me - a tricked out vehicle beats a bare bones one hands down!:)

Also, while gas prices are "good" right now that doesn't mean that in the future they can't go through the roof evenmore so.

I also agree about getting the one loaded over the bare bones because then you'd be thinking about the other and what you could get.

Car color is a deal breaker for me too;)

Btw, have you checked insurance rates? Are they pretty much the same?

Good idea. I have not checked insurance yet. I really think we will get the CRV. Gas is a big deal. We figured it would save @ $25 a month in gas and that is now - what if gas goes through the roof again? We'd save even more.

Thanks all you practical people!!
