New camara ?

I have been looking at a new camara. I currently have a canon Powershot. It takes nice pics, but I would like one that is a little faster and more options. I originally was thinking the NIKON ! camara, but I wasn't really thrilled with the reviews. I than was thinking the canon powershot sx230HS, but that one has some good and some bad reviews. Now I have been reading about the Fuji Finepix exr series, not sure what exact number I will choose either the 550 or 600 serious. I would like it to have a great zoom along with being compact so I can carry it in a smaller case or slingpack. We do cruise so would like one with a fast shutter with great pics. I also want it to be very simple to use. If you have either one of these camaras i would appreciate your feedback or if someone has another camara they would suggesst, I would greatly appreciate it. I would perfer to keep the price of the camara under 400.

I find checking out reviews on Consumer Reports and Amazon to be helpful when buying things such as cameras.

I have a Cannon SX150 and love it. The only complaint I noticed about this camera is battery life. I purchased some rechargeable Sonyo Eneloops and have been pleased. I am a Cannon love and hope to one day purchase a DSLR.

I have a Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ35. I've had it for two years and I love everything about it. I researched A LOT of cameras (including Consumer Reports picks at the time; I found the reviews on Amazon very helpful too). It kind of looks DSLR'ish (I didn't want to put the time into learning how to shoot great DSLR pics). It takes amazing pictures, great HD video, but the thing I love most about it is that the battery lasts a really long time and is recharged by a wall outlet charger. I bought it for $305 with free shipping from Amazon.
