The title says it all. What non-Christmas songs mention Christmas (or Christmas themes)

Taylor Swift - Lover

We could leave the Christmas lights up 'til January

"Fairytale of New York," The Pogues
So, Happy Christmas
I love you, baby
I can see a better time
When all our dreams come true...

"Waiting on the World to Change," John Mayer
Now if we had the power
To bring our neighbors home from war
They would have never missed a Christmas...

"River," Joni MItchell
It's coming on Christmas
They're cutting down trees
They're putting up reindeer
And singing songs of joy and peace
Oh I wish I had a river I could skate away on...

"Silent Night All Day Long," John Prine
We held hands and stared at the lights on the tree
As if Christmas was invented for you and for me
When the angel on the treetop requested a song
We sang Silent Night All Day Long...

"Brick," Ben Folds Five
6 A.M., day after Christmas
I throw some clothes on in the dark
The smell of cold
Car seat is freezing
The world is sleeping
I am numb...

"He Thinks He'll Keep Her," Mary Chapin Carpenter
When she was twenty-nine she delivered number three
And every Christmas card showed a perfect family...

It gets played at Christmas but it is a lost love song, not a Christmas Song

I love this song - I’ve always loved this song since the first time I heard it in high school in the 80s. It’s from The Edge of Heaven album, which is one of my favorite albums ever. I always loved this song at Christmas and then yesterday I watched an Instagram video from a priest I follow, and he said how much he dislikes hearing this song at Christmas time, because it is not a Christmas song and gave his reason why, which is what you posted. I never thought about it until I heard his explanation and it’s true, that’s what it is. It was like finding out Santa isnt real - kinda bummed me out, which is silly, I know. Now I’ll never think of this song the same way again, but I still love it.

Ohhh noooo, don't let it be a bubble bursting sort of thing. If it is a Christmas song to you then let it always be that, no such thing as right and wrong with such things. For me it isn't but I was always a lyrics are poems sort of person, so what, sing that George Michael song loud and proud ;) My DH is not a lyrics sort of person, he thought Tom Petty's song that goes "Last dance with Mary Jane," was all about a girl until I filled him in, maybe I should not have:rolleyes1:rotfl2:
