New Brits Guide out tommorrow.....

Hi Tron
I just went on to the Amazon site and the date there giving is the 31st Dec for dispatch.

They just gave me 1 st January, not much good as we are going 31st October

Lynda

I've had one on order for a while, hoping it would arrive before October 15th departure! BUT the expected delivery date as posters above is in a few months time.

Why do they put October 1st publish date then??:(

I work for a major book wholesaler and the publication date on our system is 31/10/2003. This usually means that the book will be despatched around this time to sellers like Amazon, Waterstones etc. However please note that these dates can and do change. I will keep an eye on the date and post any updates to it on here.

That would be a great idea if you could say when it was actually available to buy:p

I've had mine on order for a while too - doesn't look like it'll be here before we go :(

Just been in to Waterstones and they have a new date, they say there has been a publishing delay and the new date is 31st Oct (day we travel)

Swines !!!!
Just went onto order tracking, and my expected delivery date is now 30th April 2004 !!!!!!

Whats also annoying is that now they are doing free postage on orders over £25 (which mine is), but that wasnt on at the time of ordering a few months back, so they havent applied it to my order.

Im really dissapointed now, I was expecting it tomorrow.

Shame Simon couldnt have got cheap copies for himself to sell from the Publisher, Im sure most folk here would have preferred to buy direct from him and help him take more profit.

Hi Tron,

I just cancelled everything on my order including the Brit's guide, I re-ordered on the free postage deal.

I have not re-ordered the Brits guide as it would appear that they have no idea when it may arrive!!!!!!!!!

Hmmm, I thought about doing that, but knowing my luck, Ill go right to the back of the Q again, and they wont get enough initial stocks of the book to supply all the pre-orders, and Ill end up waiting even longer......so Im just going to leave it.
Ill stick with Amazon, as I can't believe anyone would get it before they would.

I ordered my copy from Amazon on 6th September, and am fairly certain the expected delivery date then was early October. Now I'm being told it will be 9th or 10th December.

We're not travelling until March 31st, so hopefully it'll be here on time, but you never know!

Anyone any idea what the problem at the publishers is?

Julie

I'm honestly not sure what Amazon are playing at with all these dates. The book should be in stock with the distributors by the end of October, and then in bookshops a few weeks after that. I have an advance copy already, which is the earliest I have had one, which suggests to me things are on track (after a slight glitch a month or so ago).

I notice today that Amazon are now adding a £1.99 (plus VAT)handling charge to orders for the latest Brit's Guide - as they say it's a 'hard to find title'!

Fortunately they don't seem to be applying it retrospectively to already-placed orders.

I tried to order this & Brits Guide to Choosing a Cruise but the delivery charge with Amazon was ridiculous. Have now ordered them from WH Smith - don't know when I'll get them though. :(
