new blog: Preview Dinner at California Adventure’s Carthay Circle Restaurant

OMG, that looks soooooooo good!!! Thanks a million for sharing!!!

I am sure most folks will thoroughly enjoy this restaurant.
I didn't see a single thing I would care to eat.

Wow, that's so cool!! The food looks amazing and John Lasseter is somewhat of an idol of mine so that dinner would have really made my day. Thought it was worth the $500 before and def think it even more now. Haha

That looks so nice! And the food looks delicious. Cant wait to try it! Or at least look inside:rotfl:

Great to see the pictures. We are eating there for lunch in July. Will Tony be reviewing it? Someone needs to tell us if the burger is worth $22! Or maybe it's the fries that are expensive? ;) Right now I'm looking at the pasta with chicken meatballs or the Kobe beef sliders. I'm a little disappointed that lamb seems to be a big menu item because I don't care for lamb. Or for goat cheese either.

Oh my, that lamb looks amazing, as does that angus filet!! Thank You for sharing!

Great blog and pictures!!!

Side question: Who was the Disney family member that was supposed to be at the dinner on Saturday? Was it Diane Disney Miller? Anyone know?

Hey girl.

You may think you don't care for lamb now.... ;) but they are AMAZING with lamb and have made many converts in the Napa Rose kitchen. Since Chef Gloria has moved over from the NR (and probably a handful of the NR staff, too), I would expect no less excellence in the flavor of the lamb.:cheer2:

Ok, I have to admit my entire experience with lamb was from the sample ladies at Costco. :rotfl2: And you may be right that I could be a convert but I'm afraid to try it out when I'm paying $30-$40 for my meal. I'd love to try a bite of someone else's. :)

Our server said it was the "Miller family" the night before.

Thanks for the info. I was talking with my Disney-obsessed friend and we couldn't decide who we would rather have dinner with; Diane and her family or John and Nancy Lasseter.

Personally if I had the money I would do both but that's just me. :rolleyes1 :lmao:

Back on-topic, the food looks fantastic and I can't wait to eat there when I return. Did you get to have a look (or taste ;) ) of the "20's inspired" cocktails?

I'll be posting a bit of a review of the day and was at the same dinner. In fact..you have a picture of me posted :) (second dining area, tables along the center, 2nd table up my back to the aisle). You got some different startes than we did. I have to say my favorite was the little gorditas..yummers. I appreciate the photos as I was pretty much too enthralled to remember to use the camera :)

Ha! That's cool to see yourself in a picture!

I am so excited that this is opening up. I love having "nice" dining options within the parks.

I think the food looks fantastic ! I agree that bad lamb has an afull "musty" taste ......more like mutton. Good lamb can be so delicious.

Yes, musty- that's it. Goat cheese has an even stronger musty or musky taste, and I know I don't like that. Maybe I'll get to try good lamb sometime.
