Love the photos, love EPCOT, but I don't think the blog gives fair treatment to Disney transit -- which I also love . While someone should technically allow an hour to reach their destination by Disney bus (say, if they have a dinner reservation or something), this is on the far upper end of travel times.
It is in fact possible to have a delightful time in WDW without a car - we do it all the time.
I thought about adding that disclaimer you would most likely reach your destination before 1 hour. But then figured if I did many people would figure it would never take an hour and would be complaining if it did.

It's a fine line - I just like to see WDW given its due for generally great transit service -- and if people can save rental car money, parking fees, and gas, all the better.
Most bus trips are *much* less than an hour, even door to door. The typical bus frequency is 20 minutes or a bit less, and nothing is more than 16 minutes from anything else in terms of raw travel time (google says that AKL to MK is 16 minutes, for example, and I think that about maxes out trip distances). So even if you wait 30 minutes for a bus, in an exceptional circumstance, you're still looking at only 46 minutes, at most, to the destination.
I've always heard the hour number used as a conservative rule-of-thumb which would also include walking time on the destination end.
