New Beauty and the Beast trailer

Big hermione fan...but...she doesn't look quite right for the part in the trailers

I mean, I think you can say that with most of the live-action Princess castings (Cinderella, Aurora, and likely the future ones.) It's got to be difficult to try and find actresses to live up to those characters - and while Emma isn't perfect, I imagine she's going to be great in the full feature.

This final trailer was much better than the last one. The beauty and the Beast song playing the background gave me chills. I can't wait for this movie!

Maybe I am just so used to original version/childhood memories but I wasn't liking the version of the song as much. Their voices didn't seem to blend as well /John Legends doesn't have enough base

She was a great choice in my opinion. She truly believes in what the character stands for. If you follow her career, she really is like Belle in a way. Though I have to admit that Belle has always looked a little older in my mind.

Great trailer. This film will be very impressive visually speaking.

Which reminds me, I wonder if Emma Thompson will sing Beauty and the Beast. It must be difficult to live up to Angela Lansbury's version.

There are already multiple versions of that song out there so I'm okay with more covers of it. I thought it was good. Obviously nothing is as good as the original but I found it to be good for what it is.

Angela lansbury's beauty and the beast and "I see the light" from Tangled are the two greatest songs in disney history...because they were integrated so well with the visual.

When you wish upon a star gets an honorable mention too ;)

100% with you on this. I'm also a softy for the circle of life and some of the poppins songs.

I've gone into the mindset that this live action won't ever live up to the animated version but it can still be good if it's judged for what it is.

Poppins is the best "body of work" I would say...not a specific song...

Aladdin and little mermaid are similar in my mind for that.

I honestly think the lion king is a pretty bad movie...it was kinda a bad/bland story. That's just me.

And if I remember the story correctly...from one of those behind the scenes docs...landsbury walked in to the studio from like Murded She Wrote or something and just belted it out...one take...like a pro.

I would agree with that as well except for the last sentence.

Lion King is in my top 5 of Disney movies. It is so hard for me to choose just 1 so I have a top 5. I grew up on that movie.

Well...little mermaid, beauty and the beast, and Aladdin are all far better movies...being honest...

Lion king benefitted from that roll...and then the next 10 years they could barely scrape up a hit...I'm not sure it's a coincidence.

The next 10 years were all Pixar dominated and also included the demise of Eisner. Which reminds me, I bought Disney War which I need to read.

I don't know, "Feed the Birds" tends to hit me a little harder than most songs.

I also think the music in Hunchback tends to get overlooked a bit. "Out There" and "God Save The Outcasts" pack quite a punch.

I agree. "Feed the Birds" and "God Save the Outcasts" get me every time. Two of my favorites.

Aside from "A Guy Like You" the music in Hunchback is flawless. And, while not historically accurate at all, Pocahontas also had amazing music. I'd love for Stephen Schwartz to do more Disney musicals.

Yeah...but feed the birds has gotten disney geek mythical status because of the stories Bob Sherman told about it with Disney over the years...so I'm not sure how it really ranks.

I'll say this: Mary poppins is the greatest movie disney has ever made and it's not close.
