We will be going back to Universal in Aug 2006. Already booked ar Hard Rock. Are there any new rides or even shows to look forward to?? We have not been to Universal since Aug 2004. :wave2:

Thanks all!

don't know how much i can help out with your question as i have been going yearly the last 15 years.

as much as i think i know the parks, i can't remember when everything started.

lets see.......fear factor is new, mummy, shrek, jimmy neutron....think they all came in the last 2 years.....

the beetlejuice review since last year has new songs, well, not new but different songs......
this is on the universal side.

if there have been new shows/attractions at ioa in the past 2 years, i am drawing a blank on them right now.

i'd have to get out my old park guides to see what rides/attractions started in what year.

We were there last in August of 2004, and nothing there were no new rides since then. The mummy was the latest and opened in the spring of 2004 I believe. The ghostbusters show is gone, and I read that they opened a water stunt type show but I'm unsure if that was seasonal, but no new rides that I am aware of.

no pretty sure The Mummy was the last new ride.

The only new ride then should be McMonkey McBean, thats it

Sorry, never heard of it - what is it please and when is it open?

Thanks for the replies, I guess nothing new from Aug 2004 to Aug 2006. Seems odd, but we will still have a great old time at Universal. The Fear Factor show would be the only new thing it appears.

i guess i am spoiled...........i live near a six flags, well, that's not kewl, but it can be fun for the rides, and used to new attractions or rides yearly at the local park up north.

wouldn't it be nice if universal would add new items every other year?
i know it takes awhile to create, and construct it all, but believe it could be possible in a 24 month period.

a few things have grown old for me. beetlejuice review i used to love.
then 2 years ago they changed the format of songs.......do not like what they have now. this is one attraction that could use a change again.

and for hhn, they kept the same day program.

Unfortunately, to add new attractions they have to get rid of old ones. I miss Kong, but love the mummy. Its a catch 22

That couldn't be farther from the truth. They aren't poor, they just didn't want to spend the money to build a new venue for the attraction. And there is plenty of expansion space in both parks.

Thanks for the replies, I guess nothing new from Aug 2004 to Aug 2006.

The tentative date for Driving Machines is Summer 2006.

I agree that the Beetlejuice review needs to be revamped. The old show was great, but the songs on the new show are not very good. Even if they just went back to the old show it would be a vast improvement.

I think Beetlejuice should be replaced with something different.

last year they stopped the tie over of beetlejuice meets the ghostbusters.

that show was a cute one..........have no idea why they did away with it.

the place for the beetlejuice review is ideal..........the thought behind it is also a winner.........but the new song selections ruins it.

you see it once or twice and no need to go back.........sometimes a new joke comes in but that just doesn't cut it.

bring back the old review of songs or revamp it with better ones.

the only ones i see going to this show are the universal virgins.

What's funny is that you could go to the older version of Beetlejuice over and over and it was still great to watch. I feel bad for the actors because they really have nothing to work with now, as far as music goes. I'm a KISS fan, but "Rock'n'Roll All Night" just doesn't work in this show...if that's what they're still using.
