The new lands of Monsters land and new areas in magic kingdom will the rides be without height limits?

At Hollywood studios there are only two rides that don’t have height limits will monsters inc land add rides without height limits? It hopefully should

At magic kingdom, will the two new lands have rides without height limits? If not that will be a huge bummer for families with little kids.

Anyone know? Height limits and the subpar child swap policy makes it very difficult for families to enjoy the park. Like guardians takes 30+ minutes to do the child swap which is a lot of time separated on a family vacation.

The new attractions (at least some) will definitely come with height restrictions. One is a suspended roller coaster so height limit - yes. Cars ride - yes.

I can’t remember off hand what other attractions are being added but at least some will have height restrictions.
Yea I could see the suspension coaster having a height limits but what they removed didn’t have a height limit so it would suck if they remove something without a height limit for something with one in a park that is already limited for young children.
I would think the door coaster would have a height limit. Cars in MK will have one . There is supposed to be a kiddie ride in that area too.
Yes I think the cars one in Disneyland has a height limits. It would just suck to lose two attractions in MK that had no height limits for something with a height limit. They could probably make a cars attraction that doesn’t have a height limit. Little boys would really enjoy it and miss out otherwise.

Based on a few articles it looks like Vekoma is manufacturing the Monster's coaster. Their website shows most of their suspended family coasters min height requirement is 41". They had one that I saw that was 37". If the MK Cars ride is anything like Disneyland's I'd assume a similar to that 40" requirement.

It feels like all the new additions and changes have just been/and will be height restriction rides. Except for that 3 minute Navi riverboat ride which leaves a lot to be desired

It’s like Disney doesn’t make the rides that made them famous anymore

While I appreciate your children are young now, the majority of Disney guests meet the height requirements and your children will too, sooner than you’ll realize. There are still a lot of attractions and shows at the parks.

Also, remember that these new lands will have more than one attraction/show.

DHS closed one movie but opened 2 new shows plus AK has a new show opening this winter.

Until we know more details about all of the attractions coming to MK, DHS and AK, we cannot say what the info about the attractions will be.

You asked if some will have height requirements and the answer to that is ‘yes’. Disney is intended for all ages, not just the very young so requires attractions of interest to the broader spectrum.

I was going to recommend Legoland but they have height restrictions too. I believe you'd be hard pressed to find a theme park that does not have height restrictions. They're just a normal part of theme park visits. Possibly your family is better suited for non-theme park visits until your children are taller? There are a lot of great other options out there!

The only attraction being removed at Studios is the Muppets show. The latest artwork show the entrance redesigned but no news on what will be in that building. Possibly even another show.

The Monsters Coaster is in a completely new building. Technically it’s a new attraction & not replacing anything.

You make many very good points! :thumbsup2

As an AP, and having had 3 trips in the last 6 weeks ... the majority of guests are adults. I think it's been clear for years, maybe decade that adults (over 13) are an important target demographic for Disney. They have likely done their research and know where the money comes from. They have to build for their target market. And as a stockholder I completely support that.

The new Monster's land will have the coaster AND according to DPB a show that I'm sure will have no height requirements so no loss there. The ENCANTO area in AK will likely be very young family friendly which would be a plus for young families over what was there. MK Carsland is supposed to have a lower height requirement ride, and that would put MK at a plus.

DPB * a suspended ride recreating the door vault scene – plus dining and shopping and a whole new theater show.

YUP! DHS came out ahead, and AK will have the same style show with new IP which is much more young child friendly. SO both are an increase for young families, not loss.

There is already plenty of attractions for younger children that could keep them busy most the day. You also have things like Character Meets, BBB, Playgrounds, Parades and Fireworks. Character Meals are an entertainment that many young families take advantage of. Disney Parks could not survive if they were all kiddie rides.

THIS^ It is up to families to decide if they are ready for a Disney Park as they are, and any other park. Disney has determined what attractions bring in the guests and dollars ~ smart business builds what customers want. Look at the lines for RnR, ToT, Expedition Everest, Tron, Guardians, Big Thunder, Flight of Passage etc ... older guests bring in more money. Adults fill those parks. Disney isn't going to leave money on the table. Guests can decide if they want to spend it there.

And I'll also say that Magic Kingdom has PLENTY for young children to do and that is the park that many young families focus on. That park already has a more than enough attractions. They aren't really taking anything away, they are adding two lands and more attractions.

Lots don't go to all the parks (exactly why Frozen and sisters were put in EPCOT), and they choose more days in MK, resort time, SeaWorld, shorter trips. We are going next year with full family with young grands. DD (a former CM) plans to take them to MK & AK only, then have resort time. When older they'll add the other parks.

This may be true, but not every adult is a thrill seeker. Currently, for us DHS is a half day park as I have 2 little girls. They are both 40” or taller, but only one is a thrill seeker; thus, there really aren’t many rides at DHS we can do as a family. Hopefully, that will change in the future but DHS has gone the way of the thrill seekers and lost some rides that can handle large capacities. That is my biggest complaint. All these shorter thrill rides that replaced shower attractions that had high capacities. It will just make people wait in line more which will erode the guest experience.

Legoland is even worse when it comes to height restrictions.
I didn’t say Disney didn’t have any non-height restrictions just when they build new things they should consider what they took away and not just build height restriction rides like they have been doing

Disney is suited for kids my kids age. I just want to see the improvements be for all generally.

Not much has really changed at DHS :confused3 just things added. So if you don't like it now, I can't imagine you liked it before. What exactly were your high capacity rides that were lost to thrill rides?

And as I said, I don't think Disney is building each park so they are equal in what they are offering for the younger, less thrill set. DHS does have way more shows than the other parks to fill that gap. I don't believe DHS will change the direction it is going in, I mean they are taking a PIXAR IP and building a roller coaster. If they ever make the bold move with Marvel I could see part of that park become Marvel "thrill" rides.

Another show would be good.

the majority of guests will on average always be mostly adults but the question is if the majority of parties have a child with them or not as the relevant question. I don’t disagree aiming for ages 13+. Just was curious if they will be removing stuff for children for that demographic.

That’s good to hear that there is a new monster show.

The riverboat, granted we only went on it a little bit.

Seaworld doesn’t have much for young kids without height restrictions either tbh. Epcot just has Anna and Elsa which is hugely popular for the right demographics

Yea thats why I made the trend to see if any more kids rides like in fantasy land were on the horizon.

I have to disagree with you there. A ton has changed at DHS and they removed many kids things or nonheight things. Backlot tours, honey I shrunk the kids, the lightening McQueen show (could have been better), I guess it’s not that much stuff but backlot tours was at least an hour experience between the actual length of the wait and ride, then honey I shrunk the kids playground was another place to kill an hour
