We made a last-minute change on our airfare with ATA and was not able to get seat assignments. You know the drill....... they reserve a large amount of seats to assign upon check-in.
I was concerned that we not be able to sit with our 11yr old son and the ATA rep said, "Just call on Friday, talk to a supervisor, and they will fix it". When I questioned her further, she explained that ATA will now allow supervisors to assign seats 24 hours before the flight. The "open up" the seating for special circumstances, like ours. Before the conversation was over, the ATA rep reminded me to call the day before to get our seats.
