New APs? Will this affect DVC passes?

I'm really confused on which ticket I'll get. We renewed months ago and will activate in two weeks. I've seem posts where some folks are getting gold and saying it's an upgrade. I renewed my pass that had no blackout dates and that's what I want. I could care less about photo pass. I didn't buy a ticket that has blackout dates. So do they have the old ap still or are we going to be forced to be downgraded to the gold version?
You will get the pass and full access that you paid for; Disney is not retroactively changing tickets. What you may be hearing are folks who are choosing to downgrade, for lack of a better word, because they don't go during blackout times and like the lower renewal price.
If you have an AP voucher you will receive a Platinum ticket.

According to some ticketing CM's on another thread the system is not programmed to issue old passes unless they are already active. No one seems to be able to clarify what is being done for those of us who renewed through MS & were given a Will Call confirmation #. They keep referring to vouchers which I don't have. MDE lists mine as a DVC AP Renewal Certificate. I know in the past they would mail a green card that you had to take to be activated but that might only have been for new passes like when they offered us the PAP deal. I thought I had the cards in the past for renewals too but I'm not really sure at this point. The one response I got was that renewals done online would get the gold. Since DVC Members can't renew online that response doesn't help. If they consider what MS does an online renewal I have no clue. I want an AP that covers 365 days also as that is what I paid for when I made my purchase. If what they give me doesn't include the PhotoPass I'm sort of OK with that. But hearing that others are getting Platinum for AP's that aren't renewals that were also purchased prior to 10/4 makes me think we should be entitled to the same without having to pay anymore. There are many people who have stockpiled AP vouchers & apparently AP Renewal vouchers purchased at way less than I paid who are getting Platinum from reports I've seen.

I will certainly post back how it turns out. This is a renewal and I did have to call ms to renew and have a will call number. We will escalate this if they try to make me take a ticket that is not a 365 day ticket. That is what I bought.

You'll find out before me because I don't arrive until the evening of 11/4. First 3 nights @ OKW & then we move to BWV through 11/17. I'll be demanding a 365 day ticket too since that's what I paid for. I don't currently have any have plans to visit during the blackout periods but I feel the same as you that I bought & paid for a ticket good for 365 days of admissions.

I'm in the same situation. I have been searching for any info and have had confirmation that this is indeed the case for the renewals purchased prior to the increase, you will get the platinum. I really wanted confirmation that this had been done live at the ticket booth and was waiting to hear this person had done so.

I would assume that already activated passes continue with the same benefits. Unactivated vouchers are a gray area that I plan to tackle with them after a bit more coffee.

Activated Aps are not affected according to the cast member I spoke to on Wednesday evening.

Based on multiple first hand confirmations from people who have gotten APS and CMs who have issued APs since Tuesday:
  1. Q: Can you upgrade at renewal to new Gold, Platinum, or Platinum Plus Renewal rate?
A: Yes - you will pay the new Renewal Price for the new Gold, Platinum, Platinum Plus (see New Price under DVC in chart below)
  2. Q: Can you upgrade current (activated) AP to new Gold, Platinum, or Platinum Plus?
A: Yes, you pay the difference between the previous AP Old Price (regardless of what you actually paid) and the New Price for the new AP. The result is the difference plus tax - equal to Increase column under DVC in chart below.
  3. Q: Can you upgrade unactivated AP Certificate to new Gold, Platinum, Platinum Plus?
A: Yes - Ticketing is no longer issuing old APs, so will automatically issue you a new AP (with PP DD) at no cost according to this:
    • Seasonal Pass > Silver AP
    • AP > Platinum AP
    • PAP > Platinum Plus AP

I have 4 AP vouchers I will be activating on NYE. (Purchased before increase.) Will they now include photopass? (Along with NO blackout dates?)

Unactivated AP Vouchers (new or renewal) will be exchanged for Platinum Passes
Unactivated PAP Vouchers (new or renewal) will be exchanged for Platinum Plus Passes
The Platinum & Platinum Plus Passes include PhotoPass downloads and have no blockout dates.
