Hey all! I'm sure this has been asked before, but I just wanted to verify what the CM I talked to at CBR told me this afternoon.

I called to ask if we REALLY needed to pick our AP's up before we check into the hotel. (We've never had AP's before, but since we're staying for two weeks this time around, it was the most economical way to go) :dance3: She told me that since our rooms and package will already be paid in full, that we can check in first, and then go out and get our AP's. Is this true? Does anyone else have any experience with this? (what am I talking about, of COURSE you do, this is the DIS!)

Yes, it's true. I think you have 24 hrs to produce your AP. Last time we did buy them before we arrived in WDW, but only had the vouchers - which were in our luggage  The CM just told us that when we got to the parks, and traded in the vouchers for our APs, to show them at the desk when we got back to the resort.

Thank you so much! Everything else I'd read, people were saying you absolutely had to get the AP's first. PHEW! What a time saver! I can't imagine we'll be making a late night of it on our first day, so we'll just have to make a quick stop into the Customs House before we tuck in for the night.

Your welcome. Sometimes they don't even ask to see it. Sometimes they do.

In the 10 years that I've had an AP they've only asked to see it once, and that was because the CM was a trainee doing a side-by-side with another CM at CSR. Other than that one time, they've never asked. There is no way for them to know if you really have an AP or not as i don't think the Disney reservation system does not link to the AP database to confirm whether or not someone is an AP holder or not. While this is my assumption, I've checked in while my current AP was expired without any issues. Of course, after checking in I'd proceed to DTD or Epcot to pick up my new AP's.

Good to know!!! We are getting APs for the first time this year too, but will only have the vouchers too. ~sorry to hijack the thread, but can the vouchers be turned in at the TTC for the actual passes? We are staying at the Poly so it would be pretty easy to switch them out over there I think. :confused3

Yes you can do it at any Guest Relations window. You may be able to do it at the resorts too as I believe that this is a new option that was just recently added.
