New AP rates are out!!

I hear you! I wasn't able to apply the discount to my reservation, and there wasn't anything available that we wanted. Oh, well.

Hi,

I checked on disneyworld.com and cannot find the special rate. Could you tell me where you found them?:confused3

Thanks so much!

Karyn

I just checked the prices and it looks like I would save about $81 per night with the AP rate on the deluxe. However we have free dining and so in the end with each dinner costing around $100 (for 3 people) and lunches going for $25-$30 and the free snacks over the 8 nights we are better off paying rack rate and getting the free dining. Plus we get the 3 one day passes to use for an upgrade the next time we get AP's. So it looks like free dining was a winner for us afterall. And we still get to use our DDE card for other side purchases. In the end I think we will save around $200-$300.

Here's all the info from Intercot:

Travel dates: 8/3 - 9/27/08
Booking code FKH

Saratoga Studios $169 plus tax

I'd been holding out to book an end-of-summer trip from 8/17 to 8/22. Called this am and was able to book Beach Club Standard View for $244/night (regular price was $325/night). Not a huge savings but better than nothing...especially because we REALLY wanted Beach Club! :yay:

When would you predict that the general public discount will come out? Is it usually a couple of days later?

I got SSR studio and I am so happy with it.

I've got a preferred room at the Pop from August 20-25 already booked with a CAA discount, and surprisingly it is $1.00 a night CHEAPER than the AP rate! I've called twice to confirm this and both agents were surprised as well! :confused3

I had two back to back reservations - 8/8 through 8/10 at the Beach Club for $272 a night booked under the AAA discount and 8/10 through 8/16 at the Beach Club for $227 a night booked under a bounceback offer. I was hoping to get the entire stretch merged into one reservation, but the AP rate is higher than the bouneback rate. I was able to rebook the two nights at the AAA rate and save about $52. Not much, but better than nothing, I guess!

Missed it! I have a reservation for Sept 27-Oct 8. I called and of course was told that it would only be good for Sept 27 and wouldn't extend beyond that date for my other days. I would have saved almost $100 for that first night but don't want to have 2 seperate reservations. Hopefully they will bring out later rates for my trip.

We did change from water view to std, saved almost a $100 with a passholder rate - it was worth it with the economy the way it is :)

If we'd kept the water view it would have saved $2!! LOL

OK... I have a postcard in my hand that has values at 59 dollars a night for the same time period so AP rate doesn't seem that good.

We are booked at AS Movies for that time with AP dining at rack rate. Can we purchase AP dining if this discount were to apply to the room on our dates? Or does having a discounted room code for passholders prevent the purchase of AP dining? Thanks so much.

Finally! These rates will only save us a few dollars over our existing reservation as well...however, using the AP rate will allow us to get the DDP without an additional ticket purchase (which is what I was waiting for!).

Thanks for the notice about the AP rates being released!
I called, and on our 9-night stay at the Poly - there was only a $10.00 a night difference between what we had (AAA discount) and AP discount! :confused3
So I changed to the Beach Club, and saved a total of $1600.00! Not going to have to the Theme Park view like I wanted, but stilll...$1600.00!! That MORE than pays for the park tickets, plus a few dinners to boot!
We haven't stayed at the Beach Club before, so now need to do some research on that hotel! I know that they have that great pool, and easy, easy access to Epcot and HS. We've stayed at the Boardwalk, and really like the area, so not disappointed about this move at all!
Good luck to everyone!! :wizard:

Okay, had a bounceback rate for Boardwalk at 227. . .sweet, but dynamics of the trip have changed so booked a split stay for 5 days at POR and 3 days at BWI. . .now saving 700. . .life is beautiful. . .

Oh, this is hotel only as we don't do dining. . .

Any word on if a general public or Disney Visa code is coming out soon?
