New AP perk - Disney Dining Experience

I have been trying to get through since 9:00 AM today and the line (407-566-5858) has been busy all day. I'm not even getting the automated service. Is anyone else getting this? I knew there would be a big turn out today, but this is crazy.....

I just kept dialing & eventually got through...it was busy for a long time. Just keep trying but be prepared to be on hold for 45-60 minutes by the sound of it. Good luck.

The listed restuarants are for all meals. So you shouldnt have any problem with using it at lunch or dinner. We have had the DDE card for years. We easily get our fee back with maybe three sit down dinners. The card is truly invaluable. We even joke when we go elsewhere by pulling out the DDE card. They have decreased the number of counter service locations, such as Roaring Forks but we use it at POR food court. Nothing CS locales at MK. Nor does it cover many of the non Disney run restaurants, such as Earl, Shulas or Big River.

Anyone know how long it takes to get their email???

I called first thing yesterday morning and did not receive the email until about 5pm. Each one is personalized with the names of the authorized users, it isn't a "bulk" thing, they need to be sent individually.

I asked to receive a fax instead of an e-mail, and asked how long it would be. She kindly offered to put it through as soon as possible, and I received the fax about 5 minutes after I got off the phone.

I was on hold for just over an hour, and it took about 5-10 minutes to sign up for the DDE. The total price was $50.00 (no tax).

Also, for the person who asked, "adult beverages" are included in the program

Yes they are. In fact, the card can be used at several lounges

This is such a great perk! It will come in handy for our trips this year as we tend to do a lot of sit down meals.

My only problem is that I can't get through on the phone. I've been calling all morning and all I get is a busy signal. This must be very popular!!!

Waited about 25 minutes on hold after trying a few times to get through past the busy signal. We do not even have our PAP's in hand yet as we are planning on getting them there when we arrive on the 16th (gotta cash in a partialy used PH towards our son's pass so we figured we'd do them all at the same time) . Even without having the PAP's, the CM took my order (charging the $50) and will be emailing the confirmation letter later today. I wasn't sure if they'd be able to give the discount given that we aren't PAP holders quite yet, but I figured I'd ask and was pleasantly surprised to see that they'd do it. What's great is that we'll be able to use the card when we go in the next couple of weeks, again when we go in May for a week with family freinds, and again next January when we return for my husband's annual conference there, all before it expires on 1/31/06.

Does anyone know if you can use the card for two parties at one table (as long as the maximum number of people does not exceed 10 or whatever it is)?
We frequently go with my in-laws and we usually split the check. If I have the DDE card, can it be used for both checks or just mine?

Just wanted to thank everyone for this great info!! Just got off the phone - less than a 25 minute wait. So, maybe they're slowing down a bit now. She said my email would go out today for us to use on our trip in 2 weeks & also mentioned the mailed cards are taking about 4-6 weeks to receive.

I noticed that "Adult" Beverages are included as mentioned in an earlier post - does anyone know if this will work if only purchasing an "Adult" Beverage at the Rose & Crown at Epcot? My hubby always enjoys a drink at the pub - do you think a meal must be involved to get this discount? TIA!

Thanks everyone for the tip -- just got my DDE after being on hold about 20 minutes. Like everyone is saying, $50 for two cards, 4-6 weeks delivery, email notification within a day. We eat at least 2 sit down park meals a day while at WDW and now that our whole trip will be WDW-focused (thanks to AP rates) this will save a bunch. thanks!

A buddy of mine lives in Lake Mary, just outside of WDW but has a Florida Resident Seasonal Pass. Does anyone know if the discount for the DDE is valid for that? I know he'd appreciate it because he eats at WDW all the time.

I will be host a dinner at Chef Mickey's for about 30 people next spring. If two of us have APs, and we both get our own DDE cards, will we be able to apply the discount to 20 of our guest? Can we apply two cards to one check? Just that meal alone would pay for both cards, and I know we will be eating many other places too.

Was just on hold for 20 minutes. Had a wonderful CM. Our AP expires in June and we don't know if we'll renew or not and the CM said the AP is only required for the discounted purchase, that the DDE was good for 1 year from now regardless of when our AP expires. Not that it matters, we have two week long trips scheduled in the next 4 months. I looked at the PS's we have for spring break and the DDE will pay for itself in the first 4!
