According to Mickey Monitor, Feb. 2006. Annual Passholders can now book a room same day for their discount (subject to availability) and the normal deposit/cancellation fees apply. YEAH!!! For those who can drive in for a last minute get-away this is great. Pick a day with nice weather and off you go.

We're driving this year. I told our DD that the good thing about driving is that when we are suppose to leave on Friday May5th maybe we could talk DH into staying an extra night (he never wants to leave either when it's time to). So this will work in this manner also, right? Do you think the discount would be available that way...Friday morning we go up to the checkin/checkout desk and say we wanted to stay one more night and also get the discount?

Yeah, it's pretty nice. I didn't book same day, but I booked a night at AKL savanna view w/ my discount last night for 6 days from now and got about $70 off. I was surprised to get it this close to my arrival date.

mickeyluv, what WDWRC means is that the current policy (the one the OP is referencing) began about a month ago. Squeakymouse clarified that this is a return to the policy of the "good old days", which it certainly is!

This new booking policy--is it still done through the BRP online or can you call CRO and book it last minute? Thanks!

I booked an AP rate for a room on 2/9/2006 by calling CRO two days ago...got my first choice with no problem.

The new system is actually better than the old way as you can now book on line or call...before the BRP we could not book online to get the AP rate.

Thanks! I've got it now. I didn't like BRP either. I don't think many people did!! Glad they switched back.

I like the fact we can book AP online now...but we've always been able to call last minute and get a rate PRIOR to that BRP program.
