Oops, auto correct. Meant unless one purchases a gold pass which has block out dates.Am I reading it wrong or do DVC members no longer get a discount on Annual Passes unless one house with the Gold Pass with block out dates? If so, i'm very unhappy since we can only going during holidays due to kids in school.
Yes, you read it wrong. DVC members still get a $100 discount on the Platinum pass.Am I reading it wrong

$505 per person? Can you explain the math on that one?Worth noting - as we just did this last week.
If you are a DVC Member (direct Disney purchase) wishing to "down renew" an AP from Platinum to Gold? You can do this. You just can't do it on the Website.
CALL Member Services. We did. Our cost for a 13 moth Gold Pass Renewal, renewed DOWN from Platinum, was $505.85 per person, with tax.
Check the official WDW Website - you will likely see what WE saw. The prices posted for DVC members are DIFFERENT than the "Call in" prices when one PHONES Member Services.
All personal opinion - I'm not necessarily right, no one else is necessarily wrong. Offered to help others, based on YOUR personal choice.
The renewal price for a gold pass is $475 + tax. That's $475+6.5% tax which comes to $505.85. Which is what you paid. The prices are the same.Check the official WDW Website - you will likely see what WE saw. The prices posted for DVC members are DIFFERENT than the "Call in" prices when one PHONES Member Services.
No matter which pass you have, you can always pay the renewal rate for any pass.

During the renewal window, you can upgrade/downgrade to any level of annual pass you are entitled to and keep the renewal savings. So, if I want to renew my gold pass, but DGS can only go during the blackout period I can renew for the platinum pass without having to buy a new one?
It only blocks out the 2 weeks surrounding Easter and the Christmas / NYE holidays. It doesn't block out the summer months when kids are out of school.
Silver blocks out summer months. And it is only available to Florida residents. It only blocks out the 2 weeks surrounding Easter and the Christmas / NYE holidays. It doesn't block out the summer months when kids are out of school.
Yes - CURRENTLY. But that is no guarantee of future block out dates. Why I point this out: WDW is selling Gold Passes TODAY, with no data on POTENTIAL blockout dates one year+60 days into the future. That would be MAY, 2018.
Why is this important: One may renew a pass (including Gold) 60 days prior to expiration (WDW rules). Today, (3-12-2017) one may renew to a GOLD PASS good through MAY 2018.
The rub: WDW will not reveal blockout dates beyond 2-28-2018. WDW needs to reveal the blockout dates over the lifetime of the pass. They are not doing so. In this action, they are violating their internal rules. One is offered an Annual Pass without full disclosure.
LOL this is nothing new! Since when has Disney EVER been up front & given advanced dates on ANYTHING?Silver blocks out summer months. And it is only available to Florida residents.
