New announcement from ABD

As we don't know what this new thing is yet, it's hard to guarantee what the policies will be regarding making changes.

If things stay the same as they are now, then changing shouldn't be an issue.

We will have to wait and see what happens.

Still no insider mail. :-(. But, my new mailman may be to blame! He's screwing up royally with his deliveries, and we are only a 10 house cul-de-sac! Lol

We Finally decided and today booked Central Europe for this June!! ::happy dance::

We still haven't received the insider mail either. Hopefully we'll see it this weekend.

Central Europe should be awesome!

I received two of them. My envelope was sticky on the back where the adhesive is and some other family's envelope was stuck to it. I dropped it in a mailbox so they will get it eventually. I'm with Tozzie. I just found this mailing kind of annoying. I don't really care what the announcement is anyway. I'm already planning to take another river cruise next year, but it won't be with ABD, even if that is what they are planning to offer.

I did a solo trip to Hawaii last May. Hawaii is very easy to do on your own. I used AAA, booked all my excursions and was picked up at my hotels in both Honolulu and Maui. I also rented a car and cruised around Oahu for the day and visited Aulani but didnot stay there

Hi guys, does anyone happen to know what time this announcement is going live tomorrow? I looked at my Adventures by Disney Insiders mailing, but I don't see a time listed. Then, should we assume that bookings begin immediately after the announcement tomorrow?

Thanks so much!

They gave us a website on the announcement. I'm guessing it will be live at midnight Eastern tonight? :)

They haven't said. As CherryOnTop said, there's a website, and it says "April 14", but I wouldn't count on it being midnight. I would think it would be later in the morning. Just keep checking the website or here to find out.

And ABD booking isn't 24/7, so if it *was* out there at midnight, you still likely wouldn't be able to book anything until like 9am EST at the earliest.

Just based on past experience.

This comment is really for ABD since we know they sometimes read the board. Quoting the Sandlot here, "You're killing me Smalls!" That's what I'll be saying if the page isn't loaded at midnight. :-)

I assume the Dec. departure will tie in the Christmas markets. We are thinking about doing a European Christmas Markets river cruise in 2017, so this is very exciting! We'd love to do this with ABD since the other lines (including AMA Waterways, with whom ABD is partnering) don't seem to cater much to families. Assuming, of course, that it is successful and ABD sticks with it. Since it sounds like they made a considerable investment in customizing the boat, hopefully they will.

Great find, Mathgeek! What I read sounds good, and I love the idea of the family configured ship, but I'll be interested in seeing the prices of those suites. I'm also wondering how much those extra couple days in Prague will be. I think the Christmas Markets close on the 23rd, so hopefully they'll move the trip up a few days in 2017. I may be interested in that, but for 2016, I think I'm going to stick with China (barring a huge price increase on that one).

Looks like the ABD river cruise is shorter and noticeably more expensive than the straight up AMA Waterways Christmas Markets on the Danube itinerary. So for us for December 2017, it will likely come down to how much of a premium we are willing to pay for the family-oriented nature of the ABD and how we feel about the differences in the itineraries.

WOOOOHOOOOO!!!!! I am so excited!!!!! We will be booking tomorrow!

We were in Prague last year through the 25th. The Christmas markets were open day and night on the 23rd, but they closed mid afternoon on the 24th.

Very exciting! Lots to think about and discuss tonight...

Not all Christmas markets close at the same time. It really depends on the city but the majority on the itinerary do close then. For 2014 or those with 2015 dates out the closing dates are:

Prague -Jan 1
Budapest -Jan 1
Vilshofen - weekends only before Christmas
Passau, Germany- Dec 23
Linz - Dec 24
Melk - only weekends before Christmas
Vienna, Austria -multiple markets Dec 24
Bratislava, Slovakia - Dec 23

My family did a Christmas market tour two years ago on our own. It was magical and I'd love to go back! This is a very exciting development.

Vienna's market really looked like the best, but we arrived there on the 26th and it was closed. It seemed by far the largest of Prague, Vienna, and Budapest's. Budapest's does continue through NYE, but I think it was closed on Jan 1. Budapest had some good food offerings, better than Prague IMO.

SHOOT. Just saw the USA Today post. We just did Prague and Vienna with ABD this past summer. As much as I would LOVE to try the new riverboat concept with them, the itinerary just doesn't make sense. I REALLY REALLY hope they will announce the 2016 itineraries tomorrow in conjunction with
