Well, it looks like we have another NJ driver to contend with...:D !

Just wanted to say Hi to all of you. It seems harder and harder to get to the boards lately. Have so much to do to get ready for the trip (way to much to do at work which is when I usually visit).

PD to all

Almost 2 weeks away! Ahhh...I can imagine it already! Well....almost. I just finished putting the final touches on our trip itinerary. I'm sure it will change a bit still but it is almost done.

Still have to decide where we are going to eat at Epcot but I'm sure that is for another thread. :)

Also, I have us skipping the fireworks at MK this year to avoid the rush for the boats back to the hotel. We had a bad experience with that last year and waited an hour and a half for the boat ride back. Of course, my DD had fallen asleep and my back was breaking from holding her.

Beth, the chain you sent me has been fun! Julia loves getting a new "bracelet" every day. :) Soon we won't have any left to give her. Of course, that will mean we are heading to the world so....WHO CARES?!?!??! :teeth:

Anyway, AspiringCindy, if you leave right here in Jersey, I can just meet you somewhere or you can stop at my place and I will scan the pictures for you in person. Whatever you would like. Have not recieved the PM from you yet. Still want me to do the scans for ya?

As a WL newbie (DW and I had dinner at Artist Point our last visit, but that's our only experience there) I thought it might be fun to ask the WL Vets here what their favorite thing about the Lodge is.

I'm already excited that we're going, but I thought your input would only heighten the anticipation.

;)

OH MY GOSH! (Fred falls into his seat....)

SOMEBODY TELL ME .... IS IT TRUE?????!!!!!

Was I supposed to have ONE FAVORITE THING????

IT CAN"T BE SO!

Anyway, back to Earth, you put me in a position where I can't answer honestly. We love the Lodge itself because of everything within and around it. I personally can't find one thing that I feel I like the most.

If I DID have to list some things I like a lot, it would be the fact that we can take a boat to the Magic Kingdom and / or rent a boat to cruise around the lake. I really relax well when on the water. :)

Also, I like the fact that there are sooooo many places to eat!!! What a variety! Definately a bad place to stay on a diet!!! :teeth:

Oh, maybe it.......ARRGGGG!!! M-U-S-T S-T-O-P or I will keep going....

Uh oh....I NEED MY DISNEY FIX! HERE IT COMES! YOU DID IT!!!

AAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

To us it was the fact that we felt completely removed from the parks, thereby making it very relaxing. Getting off the boat and the walk back to the Lodge just felt like “home”.

Having access to the boats to us was like having another attraction thrown into the mix.

Seeing the fireworks from MK, DD said she liked that better then being at MK.

Taking us back to our trips to the NW National Parks, and having to convince ourselves we were still an hour from our Florida home.

I guess what sums it up the most was I had to run to my car one day to get something and as I was walking back to the Lodge and noticing all the sad long faces of those waiting in front to leave. Then it is when I felt “Not all of you checks out of WL and you are doomed to obsess on how to return”.

Oh man, how true is that? Well, I haven't had the full WL experience yet, but I do know what you mean. On the plane home from our honeymoon, I was already thinking about going back to Disney World for our first anniversary.

After seeing that Lobby when we went over for dinner at AP, I knew the WL would be the place for us to stay next time.

Majestic. I didn't mean to put you into so much turmoil (I know you are only kidding), but I can see from your post how magical a place it really is. Perhaps I should have asked what are your favorite THINGS about WL?

GUNMAN KILLS SEVEN IN CHICAGO WAREHOUSE.

I pray none of our Chicago or Illinois DISers were involved here.

JBurke how is everything on your end?

SOOO True!

boneytdc- One of my favorite things about WL is the music! There is nothing better than sitting in the lobby listening to that music. I feel like I am out on the range.
Being at WL is like getting 2 vacation destinations-you get the theme park vacation AND you get a Great West vacation.

Majestic-if you want to miss the choas of the boat crowds after fireworks, do what we did last week. When Spectro was over we headed to the boat launch. There was only a handful of people waiting for the boat since most people were sticking around for the fireworks. We got on the boat at about 3 minutes before 10pm and we sat in the back. As the boat pulled away the fireworks began at 10pm and we had a wonderful and relaxing view of the fireworks. We watched the finally from the boat dock at WL. Wont see Tinkerbelle from the boat, but it was good enough!

As for a place to eat in Epcot-we just did Le'Cellier for the first time last weel. It was WONDERFUL. The cheese soup, the pretzel bread, the steaks. All was GOOD!

Good luck!

Hope I don't wake any "Lodgers" with this little bump. Wait, I think I see a light on down the hall, could be Kimmar waiting up for the newly licensed.:)

Ah yes the music, JBurke is right. You want to jump on your Horse and ride with the Magnificent Seven. Here is a tip, go to the Villas pool; take the first table to your right as you enter the area. I spent one afternoon there listening to the music piped into a rock speaker right by the table while sipping my “Tea”.

Didn't ducklite post from time to time on my 1st WL thread, way back when?? I kinda remember her[?] as somewhat of a trouble-maker...

Can't remember all te old thread, but I am sure she did. She does seem to like to stir it up.

WOW! I thought I was the only one that noticed the rock speaker. I use that table as well. :)

Well, I can't believe I am writing this . . . I had to cancel this morning. For those who have been keeping tabs, my aunt did get laid off with no severance package, so we cannot make the trip. This happened 2 days ago, and I've just now been able to pull the plug and write our DU agent.
I really hope we will be able to get another deal like the FTP one day so that we can stay at the WL. You all had me really excited about our first stay there.
And of course, I don't have to tell you all how depressed and disappointed we are.
For those who are going at the same time - enjoy! And please let me know how Sept. turns out with the FTP.

BlueFairy,

I am sooo sorry that you have had to cancel your trip:( :( :(

I will send some PD your way for a quick financial recovery for your aunt and a new great rate when you have the opportunity to go in the future.

BlueFairy- I am SO sorry about your trip.
I am hoping that things turn around quickly for your aunt and that you can start planning another trip asap.

All I can say is when things get bad it makes the good things that follow even better. With any luck things will look up and your aunt will get a better job! Before you know it, you'll be going to the Lodge.

I know that whatever people say it won't always make things better but it's nice to know that people ARE praying for better things to come your way.

Keep the faith!
