BlueFairy, I'm so sorry to hear about your aunt's job situation. I hope things begin looking up for her soon and that you'll be able to plan another trip to the WL.

We will know on Friday, Sept. 5th whether or not my SIL and BIL have to cancel. My SIL is still spotting with her pregnancy and is only going into work for about an hour each day just to collect stuff that she can do at home. Even if they cancel we will still be going. However, we feel bad for them because we've planned this trip together for the last 4 months. My boys have thought all along that their cousin was going to be there and now 2 weeks before the trip we may be going alone. We're really hoping things turn around, but we are not very optimistic at this point.

My DH who is not really a Disney Fan does seem to be getting more and more excited. Even if his sister has to say home and take care of herself I think we are going to have a great trip no matter what.

This just breaks my heart. I know I can not say or do much to ease your pain, but Prayers, PD and {{{{{HUGS}}}}} for all of you.
God Bless

We booked the FTP package for 9/20-9/27. We didn't book our airfare until just recently. Well because of flight schedules we decided to return to DFW on 9/28 instead of 9/27.

Right now we do not have a hotel reservation for the night of the 27th. Because of my SIL's situation I've decided to wait to book a hotel for that night because right now we don't know whether they are going or not and I don't want to add more stress by discussing this with her. So, I'm waiting until Sept. 5th to book our hotel for our last night. Here are my options:

I went to the WDW website and there is no availability at the WL for the 27th right now. I still plan to call but not until I know how many rooms we need.

So, if WL really does end up not being available I can:

1) Book the Airport Marriott - I have a free stay certificate for this hotel and this would be the more economical way to go. However, we would have to leave WDW by Towncar sometime that evening to check into the Marriott. The Marriott has an airport shuttle that would take us to our flight the next morning. This is our only evening to see SpectroMagic and I'm not sure that trying to squeeze it in and having a towncar scheduled to pick us up at WL that evening is very wise considering the time it takes to get back to WL after Spectro. So if we do this we will probably just skip Spectro.

or

2) Book our last night at another WDW resort. I was thinking maybe trying the AKL. Disney could transfer our luggage that morning and we could try another resort for that day and evening. The only resort we've ever stayed at is WL. This would mean that if we wanted to go see SpectroMagic we would still be on Disney property and not have to catch our towncar to the airport until the next morning. It would also mean that we wouldn't have to leave the magic until our trip was really over.

Any opinions from my WL friends?

Is anyone else having problems with this board being SLOW, “Time Outs” & “ Not Responding”, or is it just me?
Getting frustrating.

First you have to be aware that when any WDW Resort says there are no rooms, it is for the package you are on. An example is FL Resident, when the rooms set aside for that discount is booked, and then you will be told “Sold Out”.

My DD came down with a severe case of respiratory infection and she was afraid she would not have her strength back by our check in date of 9/12. So I called CRO and explained the situation and we would like to check in on 9/19. The first CM said no rooms. So I waited an hour called back and again explained and that on the Disney site it showed rooms available and she informed me there were no FL Resident rooms left. I then ask her to see if she could work something out. CRO called back and said we were set to arrive 9/19..

I would call CRO and explain your situation and request an additional day. It sure would save you a lot of hassle.

Few quick questions as I get closer.

For the campfire they have at the hotel where you can make smores and stuff? Does anyone know what time it usually takes place and do I have to bring my own smores stuff or do they supply it?

Can anyone recommend a good restaraunt at downtown disney? Our plans have changed so much since my cousin cancelled on us ( we found out through disney, didnt even call! ) We decided to make the best of it and go try downtown disney, any suggestions? I will have a 22 month old with me.

Me too. Blame it on all the pictures in Kimmar's signature! :teeth:

Hands down, Wolfgang Pucks. Lots of selection. You will enjoy it. We are scheduled to eat there the night we arrive at Disney.

The Campfire is at Ft. Wilderness. Take the small boat, Blue flag, from the WL dock to FW. You an take your own fixings, or buy it at the "Chuck Wagon". It also has hot Dogs, Popcorn and other Yummies.

i have to check the hours myself as we will be there on the 9/19. It normaly starts at 7:00 PM, but may change due to later in the year at 8:00. I'll let you know. It is a outdoor event so can be cancelled because of rain. While there you can eat at the Trals End Buffet, reasonable and smack lippen good.

Easy now! Them's fightin' words:teeth: !

Kathi ~
Actually, we had a big party last night for Todd...lots of his friends showed up. Almost all of them went swimming in the pool. They stayed till amost midnite. You'd think that, first day with a new licence, he'd be tearin' up the town, but they watched the newest Lord of the Rings movie on DVD and played "Halo" on X-Box!

BlueFairy ~
I certainly understand the utter disappointment you must be feeling!Just remember: When the Lord closes a door, he opens a window!:D

BlueFairy - Sorry to hear that your aunt did not get the package, and sorry you had to cancel your trip :(

Kimmar - I'll keep an eye out for crazy drivers on 80 & 78 :)

Fred - I'm glad that Julia likes the links :) . I'm getting so excited for you and the fam!!! Also anxiously awaiting the 'suprise'.....

On another note - I've been so busy. Decided to go back to School for my BS (have my AS). I'm taking express classes - which is basically a 16 week class crammed into 5 weeks :eek: All the while still working 40+ hours....{blah, blah, blah}

Sorry for the drama....

On a good note.....I booked 8 nights at WL on an AP rate in December. But before you get too excited for me, I still have to convince DH (aka Grumpy) that we should go again this year.

Need a little PD......

BUMP - and checking my countdown timer! Anybody jealous (besides Fred, who's going sooner?)

Mary

Top of the morning to all. Looks like keith-atl is the leader of the pack right now. We all remember how exciting the last week gets.

Everyone have a special day.

...it's so exciting when your countdown timer does to "single digits"!! (still lookin' fer good airfare rates for PR!!)

Are you making them aware that you are Keeper of the WL FAQ thread? That their lack of cooperation could lead to 500 ugly phone calls?

..well, first you'd have to find 500 ugly PHONES! [LOL:teeth:  ]

(Hey, Fred, didja get the pix from AspiringCindy yet??)

She didn't email them and she didn't ask for my mailing address so I wasn't sure what she wanted to do????

So, the answer my friend, is blowing in the wind.....

Isn't ANYONE ELSE GOING TO SEND ME PICTURES????
