Ah feeeel yer pay-hn!! Obviously, everyone has a definite opinion on just about everything. I certainly understand that there ARE differences in opinions, but I agree that it can be exasperating when one posts something and another DIS'er comes along and badgers THAT person for having an opinion in the first place! That's why it's my 1st rule to PLAY NICE here at the WL!

Fred,

We traveled with family 2 years ago and we are traveling with family again. Two years ago we had my DH's parents, sister, bil, and neice. Our group totaled 9 people. This year it's just DH's sister, husband, and daughter making 7 this time. Although now they may have to cancel because of pregnancy complications.

Anyway, 2 years ago everyone was in agreement to do their own thing until just a few weeks before the trip. Then all of a sudden my MIL and SIL tell me that they want to try to stick together. Well, I just kinda went along with it because I knew that once we got to the parks it would be impossible to stick together and I was right. All 3 kids wanted to do different things. We rode one ride together at MK and then went to see Cinderella's Surprise Celebration and then split up for the remainder of the day. My DH waits for no one. He just told them that we paid too much for this trip to stand around and try to agree on everything. We said we want to go to Buzz and that's where we're going. They wanted to go chase characters for autographs. My boys did not want to do that at all. So, we split up.

We decided no one's happy if there's even one person unhappy. So, we just explained to them that we would try to start out together each morning, but that as soon as we didn't agree that no one should be offended. Our trip was very pleasant.

One morning they thought we were slow getting ready and they left without us. We were completely fine with that. We rescheduled our entire day and added in a character breakfast for just the 4 of us. We did our entire day at MGM on our own and it was great. We even ran into our best friends who were staying at the Poly and rode ToT together. It was a great day.

The only things we did as a group were:
TT
HISTA
Spaceship Earth
Dinner at O'hana on our first night
Magic Carpets
Cinderella's Surprise Celebration
Kilmanjaro
Festival of the Lion King
Illuminations

That's it. So as you can see we tried to make sure we were together some, but for the most part we split up. Everyone was happy and had a great time.

Kimmar067: WOO HOO on PR. The Toaster comment cracked me up. When I was at WL in July, we were waiting in one of the small boats tied to CR dock. They were switching CM’s and my DD said is that what A-Bomb bunker looked like in your day?

BluOrchid2: It is the sign of the times. There are some on this board that, in my opinion, have never been to WDW. I know they have a list of visits a mile long and I seen some pretty unintelligent comments. Hanging laundry on the balcony, smoking non-smoking, dress codes for dinner. It is fine to have your opinion on any of these subjects, but respect the other persons. Some people are just to uptight.

If you can’t laugh at yourself, you’re not having any fun sez I

Majestic: Here is my advice for your situation. I had a similar case, not WDW, and I gathered the information of the trip and gave it to them. I said you may like to have this so you can lay out what you want to do as we have ours planned. The message got across and we enjoyed our part of the trip.

corky805: Blub Blub Blub Heeelllpp neeeed a boooat

mommie2angels: I have to confess in front of everyone. I am such a sap. I stared at your family’s picture and just lost it. I am so happy everything worked out and you had such a great time. WL Magic Forever.

AspiringCindy: I have read a lot of your posts and you would be the last one I would guess had a thread locked.

Well thunder and lighting again so I have to get off here.

PD and {{{{{HUGS}}}}} all around

I think I know what you mean when you say "if you can't laugh at yourself, you're not having any fun sez I"

I'm laughing at myself right now!

Thanks kimmar!:earsgirl:

I found and read all your trip reports. It was an enjoyable eveing reading them.

Thanks so much.

I now understand your frustration. I came across the thread on Deluxe Resort at Cristmas. You met the number one troublemaker on this board, ducklite. She has done everthing there is to do at WDW and a self proclaim "expert". I know some threads were locked because of her.

I say ignore it and maybe it will go away.

DD & I are so let down they cancelled the Osborn lights at MGM. This was our Christmas Tradition as being from the midwest this was our way to get into the Christmas Spirit.

DD says we may go to the Lodge instead this year, after I found photos and read some threads on all the things going on there then.

You expressed yourself very well with good taste and she had no call to come on like that. Also thank AC, she came to your aid.
I made a post that was a little out of charactor for me, but the Irish blood in me sometimes comes to the surface. LOL

BlueOrchid2: Don't let it bother you.... just hang out here, I haven't seen anybody contradict anyone else regarding issues here!

Room Location Question..................I feel so silly asking this as I've stayed 4 wonderful times at WL!!!!

BUT.........we haven't been there since the DVC was built. I have a "Woods View" room and I guess there is a possivbitity of my "view" being DVC. Is this correct? How IS looking towards DVC?

Ah yes, I know that feeling. I have had some threads that I participated in locked because of this person.

BluOrchid2, As others have said, just let it go. If it continues to bother you, then they win. Just hang over here where people are just waiting to help each other out.

Majestic ~ I know how you feel...

Last December, my family trip began with just my DS & I, then we asked Grandpa & Grandma to join us. This trip was for my DS's 9th birthday. Before we knew it, 11 other family members joined in. Now I didn't invite everyone, but it became my job to plan the whole event. I knew right off that I would never be able to get all 15 family members together everyday and I didn't want to compromise my DS's vacation. I mean we plan and plan for our vacations, and when someone else steps up to join in - I just want to scream! We want to do what we want to do. So I planned only a couple of get togethers. First day - we all stayed at the resort and spent the afternoon poolside. This gave everyone a chance to catch up and relax. Then I planned a birthday party at CM - I called a few days prior for a Birthday cake. Trust me, you have to call ahead because I was told that the cakes are made up before hand and frozen. So, if you want one you need to call at least 2 days prior to the event. If you don't want to pay extra for a cake, CM gives out cupcakes. Also, CM was the only place our family got a group picture taken. The last thing I planned, was a meeting spot at the food court for mornings. Our family always sat in the same area and there was no set time. If you ran into another family member - bonus, if not - no biggy. We all came and went as we pleased. The meeting spot gave us a chance to discuss what we had planned for that day, and what we experienced the day before. Other than that one cousin no one wanted to claim, the trip was a success.

To everyone else...[/B}
Thank you all for the wonderful posts and PD to all who have had to cancel their trips.

Good morning to all my fellow WL fans! I just looked at the calendar and realized...I have 1 more week before school starts and I go back to work! UUGGHH! I really shouldn't complain since I had the summer off, but Kimmar will tell ya...I've been waking up pretty late!...usually to the phone ringing and Kim on the other end.

Majestic: I would like to post a pic, but am very limited when it comes to computer knowledge! All my pictures are hard copy. I am from the old school that still uses film...can't figure out my digital camera! Any suggestions?

Hello All.

Great Thread. I had posted on the previous FAQ last summer. My wife and I were planning to stay at the WL for our Honeymoon but ended up going to GF instead (couldn't pass up the AP rate).

Well, the good news is we are already booked to return to WDW for our first anniversary. And...we're staying at the WL. Hooray!

I just had a quick question about room requests. I read the post on page 22, but I need a little clarification. We have a std view room. If I understand this correctly, std view rooms are around the lobby or on the North wing. The rooms on the North wing overlook the service area. The ones around the lobby look out over rooftops, I believe. I'm kind of a light sleeper and we will most likely take an afternoon break several times during our stay to nap. I'd rather not look out over a service area with trucks unloading during the day as they might wake me up, but I wonder how noisy it is if my room is on the lobby? Can anyone tell me? Should I upgrade to Woods view? What to do?

Thanks.

You will be in the North wing, Building B. The South wing outside is now called Lodge view, if I remember correctly.

FloridaCta-Glad you liked my trip reports. I had fun writing them.

I am totally going through Disney withdrawal.
Today is my first day back at work and it SUCKS!
I have 60+ e-mails/voicemails and stacks of files all around my office.
Its hard working when there is nothing to "look forward to"
I had been so focused on the trip that work was bearable. Now its just the everyday life things to deal with :(

I am sad. Hope I can find some extra money soon so we can plan another trip within the next 1-2 years.

Thanks for letting me complain!

Hey, you don't have to explain as I go throgh it also. Heck I had withdrawal because I could not get on the board yesterday. LOL

agsin thanks for the trip post. Remember "Wish Upon a Star" and have a precial day.

"I am totally going through Disney withdrawal."

JBurke, I couldn't agree more. The hardest part is going back to work. Reality is sooo harsh.

Thanks for posting your trip pictures. That helped with my withdrawal symptoms.

I want to go back RIGHT NOW!

Anyone have any thoughts on my previous room request post?

Thanks to everyone for posting here. You folks have a great little community going.
:D

Want to send some my way? Just pick 10 of your favorites and send them to wdwwl@majesticnetworks.net or tell me which ones you want me to add to our gallery and I will.

Aspiring Cindy: If you have pictures you want to send, you can probably take them to a Kmart or something and have them scan them. MotoFoto near me has a scanner and resizer that can do that. If that's no good, you can, of course, send them to me and I will scan them and resend them back to you via snail mail. Just include something for postage is all I would ask. :)

Janice,

I am sorry you are going through withdrawals, but thanks so much for sharing your pics of your lovely family. I really enjoyed checking the pics out as I am near a frenzied excitement due to our trip coming up very soon!!:Pinkbounc

I only have one problem at this point.....how will it ever live up to my expectations????

Janice: Your pics are great. Beautiful Family!
Where did you get that great basket(donald Duck etc.)?

Majestic: I'll PM you for the address!

boneytdc: I personally would request to be in North Wing. I have stayed in a standard room there with nap-age children and heard no noise. But if you are worried, ask to be on the 6th floor toward the end of the corridor!(near Roaring Forks elevator)
