I have one son who is 8 and going into 2nd grade. He will only miss 3 days of school. We tell him that if he wants to go, he has extra homework to do the weeks before we go (which of course he doesn't do). I'm sure that once he gets older, we won't be able to take him out of school but I just hate going to Florida in the summer.

Congratulations on your TAG. I read that you have to make alot of noise CLAP CLAP CLAP to get tagged

rugratsmom66,

You'll need to clap your hands and shout "I BELIEVE"

Then, the TF may pay you a visit :)

CLAP, CLAP, CLAP, CLAP, CLAP, CLAP, CLAP, CLAP, CLAP, CLAP,

I BELIEVE, I BELIEVE, I BELIEVE, I BELIEVE, I BELIEVE, I BELIEVE

Why is everyone making fun of the "Giant toaster in the sky" [LOL], errr, I mean, the CR??

LMAO!!!! Never thought of it, but you're right it does look like a giant toaster. LOL

Blue Fairy: Thanks for the info! I will try to request a good room since my kids don't stay up late... they may not make it to fireworks at MK, but we could watch them from our room! Do you think I should request bunk beds? My son is 6 and never slept in them? Is he too young for the top?

60 more days!!! YIPPEEE!!!!

I was going to switch to this resort from POR but haven't because I heard the transpo to and from the parks is awful--long waits for busses especially coming back to the hotel at night. Is this true?

We had o problems going from the Lodge to anywhere. Never more then a 5 minute wait. Our only problem was coming from MK at clsoing one night, which I guess is expected no matter which resort you stay at.

If AP discounts for December come out--I think I might switch. It sounds so pretty. We will be driving down so we will have a car at our disposal to go to DTD at least. Thanks for your help

We had a wood's view room with bunkbeds for our last trip. It was room #5012. We had an awesome view of the fireworks and could even see a little of the Electric Water Pageant.

I have a 6 yo son and he can sleep on the top bunk just fine. There are rails all the way around so they don't fall out.

My SIL and BIL were in room #5014 which connected to our room. That room also has a great fireworks view, but there are no bunkbeds. I've heard rooms #6012 and 6014 have the same type of views.

These rooms aren't that far from the elevator and it was a quick walk to Roaring Forks to refill our mugs. Great location!

...welcome aboard the "S.S. CRAZEE WL"!! Your son (you too!) is gonna LOVE the WL! You can try the Cubs' Den one night, if you and your hunny want to go to PI "sans kids"!

After reading thru all the forums this past week I finally decided to jump in...I love WL and on one trip with two of my nephews we sat and watched the villas being built. ( years earlier I had toured OKW and had dreamed of owning a DVC membership) my dh and older nephew where at BB.....the little one was appx 3 yrs old, and it was nap time for him. He liked to be told stories so I told him about how we were going to buy a home right here at WDW and when he was older and a daddy he could bring his little boy to VWL and let him meet Mickey. The dream of ownership became real and when we visit he walks in just like he owns all of WL. He knows all about the points and loves to help plan our trips. I have made so many trips thru the years I'm not sure of the #....have stayed in almost all of WDW Resorts, for years Poly was my favorite until WL was built. When I arrive and walk thru the front doors I feel like I'm HOME. (Have also stayed at all other DVC resorts at WDW but only the WL feels like home) We'll be going home in Sept. Sorry this is so long.....(my first post).....

I'll be at the WL in Sept. as well. Sept. 20-27th. What week will you be there? I'd love to try the villas sometime. They look great. Everyone here loves the WL. I just can't imagine staying anywhere else.

I feel a little guilty trying another resort! We'll be staying at AKL in Dec. just to experience a different theme and possibly do Sunrise Safari, but I feel bad not staying at WL!:( Just like others have said, "It feels like your home when you walk into the lobby of WL! I hope AKL gives us that same feeling!

We will be at WL Sept 19, 20 (Fall Resort Savings Florida Residents) added this, to my DVC stay at BWV for Sept 21-25. My sister called and said lets go. (Only pv avl at BWV on the dates I needed)

Boy I hate coming back to reality, but I did miss all my DIS buddies. I got to meet a few while in WDW.

Kimmar, sorry to hear about your trip, let me unpack and I'll send the remaining pixie dust right on over.

FloridaCat, I blew my horn as I went through Deltona, hope you heard it!:D

Ratpack, can't wait to hear about your trip!
How was the transportation?
Any upgrades?

Welcome back
Thanks for the TOOT. Hope the storms did not mess up to much fun for you. More the same this coming week. Looking forward the RATPACK report.

Heading up to my DD in Wilmingron next weekend. How is construction on I-95 in GA?

Construction was not an issue except for just before Jacksonville on the Daytona side. All other areas was clear sailing.

Welcome back. Hope you and yours had much fun! I know a bunch of us were thinking about you while you were gone.
