Thanks, Florida Cat!

I just have to share these room request letters I just typed up. The first one is ours, followed by one that I typed up for my inlaws' room.

and the one for my inlaws...

Does anyone think this is funny, or should I just play it straight?

I like both letters and I even used the one you sent for yourself as a model. My family and I'll be there around the same time you are. Have a wonderful trip.

I hope you got back on to read the posts on your letters. I was proofing them when my screen went nuts and I could not get back onto DIS I really feel bad about this.

Also wanted to make sure to tell you to pack your panchos as we ahve been having PM TS. They come and go, but want you to be prepared.

The Magic awaits, come down and let the PD make you feel like a child again.

It was really fun to do that yesterday. I needed a break from the work I was doing and it helped get my mind off of the stress.

As for my feelings for Pamela Anderson, yup, she is fake and not so bright. It was just the first picture I thought of to try and counter Kimmar.

:)

HAPPY FRIDAY! WOOHOO!

You have a beautifuly Family. I know, it was just a joke with Kimmar.

Happy Friday all! :)

I'm envying some of these countdown clocks here.

Notice mine below? (NOT)!

Can I pout for a minute? Visitors to my web page aren't signing my guestbook :(

OK, that's all. I'm done.

I enjoy reading everyones posting, I feel as if I know most of you!

BluOrchid2: I loved your letters, and will also use them as examples to send in our room requests before our trip!

FC: You spread a lot of PC on this site, you're a really special person!

Majestic: You're arriving just as we get ready to depart. I'm going to keep an eye out for you, and introduce myself. I hope some of your love for all things disney will rub off on my hubby. He's just started to get excited about our vacation, but maybe it's just the golf outings he's got lined up.

kimmar067: I know everyone tells you how great you are, but we all really appreciate your efforts. I enjoy all your posts and all the help you offer. (& I've gotten really fond of those photos, I can't wait for the speedos!)

To everyone who's going soon, be sure to send in those trip reports, I love reading them during my lunch break!

Have a great weekend everyone!

You know... I have been getting a lot of comments from so-called Disney resort "experts" and have been told that WL is one of the worst resorts around! I can't believe it... I thought I was all excited and happy, now I feel like I am making a mistake!

I have been reading this thread and found nothing but positive! Now, DH has been mentioning that I should call and change to Contemporary... or Poly!

What should I do???

annamonte,

Worst resort  ?

Not sure where you've heard that from but it's well known that WL has been ranked the best themed resort on property (AKL may be now).

Anyhow, everyone has different taste, but on our last trip, we booked the Poly for the entire trip. Two days in, we switched to WL......

we loved it. We were there from 07/26-29. We had a standard room booked and we had requested bunk beds but when we went to check-in there wasn't any left except for concierge. Of course they were runnig a special and we could upgrade for an additional $50.00 per night. ;) ;) ;)

Yes we took it. Now we have stayed at Aniaml Kingdom Lodge concierge and loved it. However AKL does offer more at breakfast we realy liked the concierge staff at WL better. They were very freindly and greeted us each and every time we got off the elevator. The evening appetizers(SP?) at AKL were often a little to spicey for us but WL offering were really goo. I never did get to try the cobbler but I did have a few magic bars YUMMY!!! Maybe the nexy time I can get some cobbler.

My only complaint was one group of children not being supervised by the parents. There was a family that had a few rooms and they let the kids stay in one room and these children never walked anywhere, whenever I saw them. They were even running at the pool. Now I dodn't mind children but I do think they running a talking loudly is rude in any hotel.

Now don't flame me for this.

We still had a magical trip.

Welcome back and I'm glad you had a great trip!

The cobbler is excellent!! I tried to never miss it!

As far as the children are concerned, I ran into the same issue. Also, there was a family that let thier 3 yr old daughter sit there and touch every single PB&J sandwich. I was SO glad that I got thier before they arrived!

Keep in mind, I have 2 children myself (DS's 4 & 10months). When we arrived, I showed my DS4 how to use the tongs to pick up the food. And he also knew that the one he touched first, was the one he had to take.

Then you know what I mean. If your four year old used the tongs then surely some 8 or 10 year olds could. I just made sure that I reminded my children to use the tongs. I might have said it a little louder than I needed to.;) ;)

The wonderful thing about Disney is they offer resorts for every budget and lifestyle. Only the individual can make that decision, based on the excellent feedback this board provides.

For most of us on this thread, WL is our Shangri-La from out normal everyday world. For me personally, it is a link to a more pleasant time in my life. My DD, DGD & I fell completely in love with WL, and hence our return trip in September. We enjoyed the complete absence that we were in FL or a theme park. We also looked at other resorts during our stay and could agree there was only one other that would be given a consideration.

We loved the Themeing, atmosphere and service. We enjoyed taking one day and just hanging out at the Lodge and pool to recharge our batteries. We enjoyed our fellow guests and felt like we knew each other for a longtime, everyone being pleasant and helpful.

My suggestion is to keep your reservation for WL, if after you enter the massive front doors and enter that impressive lobby and do not experience Goosebumps go straight to guest relations and request a transfer. I know they will oblige, however be warned, part of you will not leave WL and you will always be yearning to return.

Can we have the link so I can go see it then sign your guestbook? :p

My best friend has stayed at both the WL and the Poly. She said they were very dissapointed in the Poly. She said they liked CBR better than the Poly. They are trying out all the resorts by staying at a different resort each trip. She said they would go back to WL in a heartbeat, but they will not stay at the Poly again. They feel the Poly is overrated and overpriced.

We thought about trying a different resort this time, but we were afraid that nothing would compare to the WL. The only other resort I'm really interested in is BW and my 6 yo DS would like to try the Contemporary tower so he can watch the monorail come and go, but that's a little pricey at this point. My DH who's not really into WDW that much loves the WL and was very impressed. He stays in lots of nice hotels when he travels for business.

My cousin and her husband have stayed at both the WL and GF and they said the service and theming at the WL wins hands down. They said they couldn't believe how much better the WL was seeing that the GF is supposed to be the best of the best.

Thanks guys!!! I knew I should have just stuck to my guns! I am really looking forward to it. But, you know, when you have negative people around, you tend to second guess yourself!

WL .... HERE I COME!!!

:)

Annamonte, stick with your plans to stay at WL. Trust us, you'll love the resort. The resort transports you to the great Northwest. Every detail is carefully designed to make you feel like you are vacationing in a grand lodge in Yosemite. Between the music and the calming sound of the waterfall, it is a nice break from your busy day at the parks. Also, the restaurants are terrific! If your in the mood for frolics and antics, Whispering Canyon is the place to go. But, for a quieter, more sophisticated meal, Artist Point offers a great alternative!
Where does CR transport you to? A boring building with a concourse that resembles an airport terminal. Yuck(sorry, CR fans) !

Right on AC. You can also take a pleasent little boat, Blue Flag, ride to FW and dine at the Trails End. Buffet style, very reasonable and very tasty, drinks included. Also has a bar, not included.

that same boat will take you to CR and you can see it is like a convention center. You will be able to compare.

Ditto!
