We are busy packing for our trip....5 days to go.. Yikes! Ratpack is really getting excited about all of this and all I can think of doing is getting my house cleaned up- our Dneighbors are dog and house sitting and you just want a clean house.) Ha!

Say a prayer for him, he interviewed for a job yesterday and will have a second meeting with the prez this week before we leave on Friday. Hopefully, this will be the magic we are hoping for.

Thanks fellow WLodgers. Ratpack really enjoys talking with you!

hi ratpack gang,

yes tons of pixie dust heading your way. i hope you have a most magical time on your vacation.

and definitely, prayers to ratpack himself, i hope and pray that the job opportunity comes through for him. i know how it feels, i have been jobless for a while now and had an interview this past monday and it seems to have gone very well and hoping to hear from them soon (with positive results). :D it would be the coolest thing to go on vacation knowing you have that job. well, again, tons of pixie dust to ratpack. and God bless (i think He knows about pixie dust too.)

anyway, happy packing and totally enjoy the "magic" that comes your way. :D

...and out...heading "down the shore" to my niece's bday pool party! TTFN!

We are so excited that we just booked our first trip to WL. This will be our first trip to WDW with our sweet baby girl (will be 6 mths. for the trip). I have been to WDW over 35 times in my life, but have never stayed at the WL. I hear that we should request the highest floor and as far from the lobby area as possible. I would appreciate any suggestions!

What is the reason for being far from the Lobby? We were in room 5028, which was near the elevator at the intersection of North building A & B. We never heard any noise at all

If you want a room even father you should request a room number ##15 or less.

Hope this helps you, if not post a reply

I am not really sure what the reason is for being far from the lobby. I read that in the unofficial guide book. It is good to know that this is really not a big issue. Thanks for the tips on the rooms!

Hi all! I just wanted to jump in and say how much we enjoyed being near the lobby on our trip last month. It's like having another view! Noise wasn't an issue either, though we were on the 5th floor.

We loved the WL........can't wait to go back!

"Hey Mom, did you feel some magic get on you?"
~ DD (5)'s reaction to the mist from Fantasmic

Priceless.

It was warm the night we were there, so the "MAGIC" felt good.

I can't imagine why anyone would suggest that, but I guess somebody had a reason at some point. All I can tell you is that we stayed there in December, and requested a room overlooking the lobby, and I wouldn't have it any other way. Noise? What noise? It was wonderful, and close to the elevator to get right down there to all the action! We were originally assigned a room that was so far on the back side of the lodge that my son would have never found his way back and forth alone! (I'm not sure I could have. ) But I asked for the room change and they were nice enough to comply, and it was outstanding! I am requesting a lobby view again for the next trip, you can be sure of that. Oh, and you will LOVE "The Lodge" as you can see so many of us do. It's just so cozy there, in spite of the size. When are you going?

hi to all lodgers,

my dh and i had a courtyard view room that was far from the lobby, it overlooked the pool and trout pass snack bar. and, yes, it IS a long walk from the elevators. we did like the view though, and all the action from the pool and the lake. i guess it depends what you are looking for.

tig-girl - you are right about finding your room though, the first couple of times going back to the room it felt like we were in a maze and it did feel like it took forever to get to the room, but we got used to it and tried different ways getting to the lobby.

i also heard that at christmas time the lobby rooms are great because you can see all the christmas decorations and having the view of the tree right outside your room, wow. i also heard that they have choirs and bell ringers in the lobby from about 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. on nights in december. now that would be great, open your room door and listen to them.

anyway, i think any room at the lodge would be great, just to be at the lodge would be great. :D

Just wondering how the pool area has been lately? Crowed because of the WLV? By the way can WL guests use the Villas pool too? I know it is not as fancy, but it may be a bit less crowded.

We are going Sept 20 so it is just around the corner. I am new to these boards and don't know how to get that count down clock.

just checkin' in with y'all....less than two weeks to go!

...Lora! Long time no "read"!! Can't believe you are headin' out to the WL again; we are staying at Ft W this time out, as you can see by my countdown clock!

Go to the Technical Board and click there. You will see all kinds of threads. Look for the one that says something like "Get Your Countdown Timers Here" and just follow the instructions. Good Luck!!

PatriciaH - you can use both pools at the WL. It's either hit or miss with the crowds at WLV Pool. During our last trip, the "quite" pool was WAY crowded.

disneykid - we stayed at the lodge over Christmas and let me tell you that it is beautiful! While we were there we didn't see any carolers, but on Christmas Eve, Santa was there taking last minute orders :)

Also, on Christmas Eve Mickey, Minnie, Chip and Dale where there. My DS was on the Railroad car (for me to take a picture) and the next thing I know, Chip jumps up there with him to pose for the shot :)

My son was in heaven!
