I am getting so excited about going to WL..My DS 11 and I talked what we should do when we first get there. *WL Vets, any suggestions for us newbies* We are beside ourselves with anticipation. When I told him that I requested a room facing the Otter Pond, he was just so excited.

You have to think, we live in NYC, I have, count em, 3 trees on my block, So this is going to be the best for us.

Fred,,we cant wait to find your memory box. I have a special something from the Big Apple to put in there.

If we could get to be Flag Family, that would be so wonderful..My son is a boy scout and Im a volunteer park ranger..(Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge, right next to Kennedy Airport, its a hidden jewel). Hoping some pixie dust will fall on us. I would sing God Bless America way on top of that building. I do that at the end of every show with my band

I can feel your excitement, my advice is to take the time to browse the Lodge and become familier with it. Since DS is a Scout, there is a neat display of rocks on the 4th floor from the Grand Canyon. Same as in the fireplace. Take the main lobby elevatoer to 4 and walk out over the lobby.

Every floor has something interesting on it. At theend of the check in counter is a information area. Pick up park maps and time sheets. Then you can plan what you want to see and do at the parks.

Request room numbers 5030 to 5014 for the Otter Pond.

Florida Cat: Thank you so much for the info. Those room numbers you gave me are priceless. I did request 5th floor otter pond when I made my initial ressie. Perhaps I should fax my request a few days before I leave with that extra info

I cant wait to explore the nooks and crannies of WL. The last time we were at WCC, we did get a chance to explore a bit the fireplace with fossils.. A cm had seen the interest that both myself and my son were showing and told us to go to every floor and check out the different levels of the fireplace.

I cant wait to go and take my time.

Writing this sitting in room 5071. my faxed room request was filled..upgrade to the 7th floor with the conicerge was $50 a night more..i passed. this room overlooks the lobby (right next to the chimmey) and straight view of the lake!!! thanks to all of you and playing up to you all i get a great room.
