New and have 2 questions on the DDP

Hi!

I am new to this board and this will be my first WDW vacation.

I have 2 questions:

1 - Can I buy the DDP after purchasing the room reservations? If so how long before I leave can I purchase it?

2 - Can I buy the DDP seperate from everything else? For example, I am planning on getting the reservations for the room through AAA, Flights through SW, and park tickets through floridaorlandotickets. And then I was planning on purchasing the DDP last. Is this Possible?

You have to purchase the DDP as a part of a package. That package must include MYW tickets (at least one day), room, and dining. You can get a package through AAA that includes dining, but you can't just get the room from AAA, tickets from another source, and then dining from Disney. If it was me, I would get the package from AAA if they are cheaper than going through Disney or another travel agency.

Exactly why they won't let you do it this way.

the flights are the only thing you have listed that does not need to be part of the package. also, you must buy a pass for each person in your party, all for the same length ot time (note that as melissa said, the tix do not have to be tied to the amount of nights you are there tho ~ you can just get 1 day passes for each person, if you wish).
your best bet is prob to do the math: check the menus & see if the DDP is saving enough money over paying OOP with other discounts to make it worth it.
