For the women they might have been thinking how we on average carry our weight or at least part of it. While the guys have that upper body strength you saw the one guy struggle with that because he relied on that for too long tiring himself out. If anyone watches American Ninja Warrior while that vastly favors men to complete and win, there are obstacles that require someone to ease up on the arm strength and instead use their legs more to propel themselves. That climbing challenge on Amazing Race reminded me of that where the arms would be used to reach but not support the entire body weight for long.Impressed by how good many of the women were on the climbing task, wow Brett really killed it.
but this isn't specific to THIS season of Amazing Race. It's something multiple people say at least once every season "don't go on Amazing Race if you can't ____" in the past that was mostly aimed at stick shift but also lack of directional abilities, fear of heights has also been mentioned, etc. Ideally you would have someone knocked out because of something part of the race not because of a pre-existing fear of X or inability to do Y (usually that was stick shift in the past).
