New AKV Owner confused.....

I noticed on the points chart there is a Value catagory. Can anyone tell me what this is?

Yes - they are a handful of rooms in Jambo House which (due to the existing floorplans) were left a little smaller than the other rooms after the 5th floor conversion to DVC. If you don't mind that tradeoff, they're a great way to stretch your points out (especially because you have a decent shot at a savanna view value room). Because there are so few rooms and they're such a great points deal, you typically need to book them pretty close to 11 months.

It's a few very small rooms at Jambo house. The value rooms do not have the room to use the extra sleeper chair, so the 1 and 2 bedroom units there only sleep 8, and there ar e a few Value level rooms that overlook the savanna, so it COULD be a good deal...or maybe not if you would be cramped. There are no value sized rooms at Kidani.

The Value rooms are located along the Ostrich and Giraffe trails at the front (main entrance side) of Jambo House. As you can see from the map, the Value rooms can have a view of the Sunset Savanna, the pool or the parking lot. The Value rooms are about 3 feet shorter than the non-Value rooms. Because of size difference there was no room for a sleeper chair in the Value 1/2BRs so their occupancy is lower (4/8 instead of 5/9 for the non-Value 1/2BRs at AKV) and no room for the storage bench in the Value studios so you have less storage space. But they are a great deal if you want to save points and are willing to risk getting a parking lot view.
