I don't know if this has been posted yet, but I just received an email from DVC saying:

Now you can visit Disney destinations more often and discover other places you've only dreamed about. Because for a limited time, you can receive a Disney Dream Dollars credit of $8 per Vacation Point (off the regular price of $104) when you purchase an additional Ownership Interest in Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas equal to 50 or more Vacation Points.

Pretty cool.

I like the fact that you can get the discount for "only" 50 points. In the past you had to buy more. We're not biting at this time....winter did damage to our house, and that's what we have to spend the money on!

I haven't gotten that e-mail, thanks for the information.

I got this, too, and found it quite interesting. It seems like SSR is about to sell out and AKV is selling really well (people on wait lists for points for certain UYs), so why would Dis be offering a discount to move AKV? Contemporary announcement maybe? Maybe they are, but it doesn't seem like sales are slow.

Thanks for posting! I don't always get these and the last one I did get only offered a discount for add-ons above 100 and it was for SSR only. Great to see folks who are really interested in adding on at AKV get a break!!! :goodvibes

Its all about the timing. Dis is hoping to make an irresistable offer just in time for checks to be cashed. Good timing.

We got the offer, too, but I have a question....

I know you have to own at a particular property to get the 11-month window. If we buy 50 points at AKV (we only own at SSR now), can we make 11-month reservations at AKV if the stay would be for more than 50 points (meaning we'd use our SSR points to fill in the rest of the AKV stay)? Or can we only make ressies at 11-months if we have enough AKV points to cover it?

Thanks.

Good question. I want to hear the answer too but I've assumed that a deed is a deed regardless of where the rest of the points may come from. I would think it would have to be that way.

It will be interesting to hear it definatively, though.

From what I understand you have to have enough points for the whole reservation at the certain resort to book at the 11 month window.

You can only use the "home points" to book during the 11-8 month window. If you wanted to make a AKV reservation at 11 months that was 100 pts. you would have to borrow the next year's allocation(or if you had banked the previous year). Only way to use SSR points at another resort is wait until 7 months.

Yep, I was at our bank yesterday ordering some Euros for DH's upcoming European trip and the manager was telling someone the direct deposits are starting to go out, first batch should be in accounts on Friday.

What I found interesting was the offer was for AKV. We can make the assumptions they don't have enough SSR inventory or AKV sales have dropped a bit. I really think they want 2 resorts to sell and what better to offer than AKV and KT. Both ends of the spectrum(theme and location).

Help! I'm on the fence!

I'd love to have that 11 month UYto try to get concierge level...AND I'm a June UY so there's a possibility of double points in my future...

AAAACK! :scared1:

Thanks - that's what I thought, but I wanted to be sure. I looked at the AKV points chart to see if we add on 50 if it would even be worth it for when we'd go for being able to get a 1-BR for few nights. Thanks for the borrowing-tip -- we'd like to stay at AKV but it's not one of those things where we'd want to stay there every time, and I hadn't thought about borrowing to let us stay maybe every other year.

Off to crank the numbers..........

Diane of OKW fame, bought enough points that she can stay at AKV every 3 yrs. I'm thinking that's what we might do with KT when the time comes.

I did the same and it wasn't that many points. I may do the same with KT, but not sure.

So, what is the offer $8 off per point? That's it? And what do you mean by "I am a June UY- I see double points in my future?"- is there some sort of incentive for June use year?

My guide called about this on Saturday. She said DVC was listening to all the complaints about the lack of incentive for small add ons (I was one that complained). She did say it was a limited time offer (aren't they all). We are heading to AKV on Sunday and will probably add on when we get back.

For anyone who is interested ... you can also do 50 pts at SSR and get $10.00 off per point. I just did this today

I received ours, but I'm holding out for the Grand CA.

I just realized that I did not submit my email to DVC MS, so I did not get the email. Could someone PM it to me? When does the offer end? Elaine
