New additions to the older DVC's?

I am going to start this thread with a quote from one of the others...

Rumor control --- I don't know what the roll-out is for the HDTV. It came up in the BWV meeting notes (probably part of the reason for the new armoires there). Since they have said they will keep the DVC's consistent, I suspect all the resorts will be getting it but haven't seen it written officially (just like I haven't seen anything "officially" about the slide).

When we were at WDW in August, I had to have maintenance up to check out a leak from the fridge. The guy who came to make the repair said they were getting new center island/TV stand at OKW next year too. I wonder if that is to accommodate the HDTVs? He said they had a lot of trouble with the hide-away doors of the entertainment center part of the island, so they were doing away with them. He wasn't sure if they were replacing the whole island or not.

I mention this only because Pam's mention of HDTV reminded me of the conversation with maintanance. It seems to give a bit of official credence to the rumor.

Diane - does this mean that they are during away with our Island - I like it - it is where I put the groceries - til I put them away.....

I realize the other DVC resorts don't have this - their setup is different.

He did NOT say they were doing away with the island, only that they were doing away with the doors in front of the TV and possibly replacing the island. I assume if they are doing this, they would put the HDTV in at the same time. He had no time frame for when this would happen.
