LOL, I think it's great that you can nominate rooms, however I don't think it's a good idea that you can nominate YOURSELF. Aside from being kind of tacky, it will result in nomination OVERKILL.

I think it's great bc I had asked the question a few weeks back on VMK main page contact place.

i've seen a couple places I wanted to nominate but didn't know how, hope they're ready for the flood though....

I don't get it, if you get loads of nominations do you win by vote, or if you're nominated do VMK check out the room to see if it's worthy enough?

If you win but popularity vote then lets just hope best guest room doesn't turn out to be a 'boys meet girls' room

Yes, thats why i think they should also only allow ONE nominate per computer.

i dont think this was a good idea because some people will get out of hand with nominating and make it so that even the best guest rooms will not be able to win, in the future i plan to see a lot more "ugly" and "not well designed" rooms...

It does say staff will review the room / quest of those nominated, so I don't see how it can become a popularity contest. Hopefully it'll actually make it easier for the VMK staff to find the really good rooms that might otherwise get overlooked. They will have an initial mad rush as everyone tries to nominate themself / their friend / their sister / their cousin's friend's dog, but hopefully it'd settle down a little after that. Surely they know what they're letting themselves in for, and have prepared for the deluge?!

I think it's a good idea, for the most part.

First, I think it would work best if VMK made the priority rooms to review
the rooms with the most nominations from OTHER players. I intend to
nominate rooms of other players and NOT my own. I agree that too many
players will nominate themselves.

On the other hand...if a player nominates his/her own room and these are
players who don't attract a lot of "traffic" (visitors), then it's a good way to
bring great rooms to the attention of VMK staff.

There are many times I've been in rooms I think are so good, I have sat in
them for hours, over many days trying to get the room noticed by staff.
I'm glad I can now nominate the rooms directly to VMK.
