New 2026 Itineraries and dates announced

FYI there is a 240-hour Visa-free transit policy which applies if short visits through designated airports. It’s about 10 days, seems like a good option for short visits, Perhaos that is what @Jeff Chang is referring to.

Another user on these boards posted about it his experience with it recently in a trip report, which is how I’m aware.

But there's 10 days in china for the trip, so it then becomes what time do you enter and not having any delays leaving so you don't exceed the hours. If it works for all the areas.

It's a 10 year visa, will I go to china again? Probably not but I'm also not going to potentially screw up the most expensive trip I'll probably take and I'll pay the few hundred and get a visa.

We're also going to add a post night to have more time at SDL so it wouldn't work anyway.

Thanks for clarifying as it relates to the duration for the Disney China trip. I was not intending to say a normal visa would or would not be required for that trip, so apologies for any confusion with regards to my response.

Rather, i was trying to help with clarifying the question being asked by the previous post, as there are times when the full visa might not be needed. Some folks, myself included, use these forums in non-Disney travel planning.

I wasn't aware of this. Thanks for the info. But it looks like it's only good if you are traveling *through* China to a third country (ie, transiting) so if you are going from the US to China back to the US, it wouldn't apply, even if it's less than 10 days. You have to have proof of transportation to a 3rd country for it to apply.

Besides which, as I said above, it's only good if you are transiting to a 3rd country. Since I assume you'd be returning to the US after your trip, it wouldn't work anyways.

Yep, it's good to know that this exists if it suits your travel plans.

Sayhello

I didn't want to start a new thread. Doing my first ABD next year, when will we get info about luggage restrictions etc. I'm well over a year until my trip but I'm a planner 🙂 Just trying to sort out how to do it given well have 5 to 6 days in addition to the ABD portion.

That info should already be out on the web page for your destination. Go to the trip. Then on the left side click on Preparing for your Adventure. For example, this info is in that section for the China trip -

Luggage Information
Please limit your baggage to one piece of checked baggage per person plus one carry-on per person, due to internal flights within China.

While your international airline may follow a more lenient baggage policy when flying to China, Chinese domestic airlines have very strict requirements that may not align with overseas flights. To ensure a smooth transfer for all Guests on these internal flights, ADisney will enforce the domestic baggage policies of the domestic airlines during the trip.

China’s domestic weight requirements are:

  • 1 checked bag not to exceed 20kg/44lbs and the total dimension of each piece must not exceed 80" (200 cm).
  • 1 carry-on bag not to exceed 5kg/11lbs and not to exceed dimensions 21x15x7" (so that it can fit under the seat or in overhead compartment).
  • 1 small item may also be carry-on (like a purse, coat, umbrella).
When packing your luggage, please keep this information in mind.

I hadn't seen there was more than the itinerary. I'll go look, thank you!

ETA I had only been looking at it on my phone, once I changed to desktop it showed everything I hadn't seen. Or at least couldn't easily find.
