That's because its now easy to get massive government-backed loans for those all-important educations. If people had to pay for college out of their pocket, things would be different.

I agree there's too much "easy" money in the college industry. But those aren't the "government backed" loans. Those are the loans that parents have to co-sign for. The ones running up huge totals have someone co-signing for them.
