NEW 1/6 D Day!!: This trip will STILL be a Perfect 10, Just a Different 10 :)

Welcome!!! Thanks for joining in!!

Yum, I love hummus - maybe I'll have to try that - it sounds great!!

Yes, VB can suck you in. :) I started with an innocent little Hipster & it snowballed from there!! :)

Thanks again for joining in!!
Hi I'm joining in. I will be leaving the day you arrive! I am looking forward to trying CHH too, my BBF is really looking foward to their hummus and broccoli slaw sandwich.

I have strated to go crazy for VB too, and it all started with a lunch bag. Now all I can think is, hey lets go look at the store with all the VB stuff 5 minutes from my house.

Looks like your trip is going to be great!

:) I am very excited to ring in my 30th year @ Disney. I figure that will dull the pain of passing into another decade!! :)

Aren't you getting super excited to go back this month?!?! Soo much fun!! I'll be living through you via Facebook. :)

Turning 30 was a bit....odd. I think spending the actual day at WDW is PERFECT. I might have to keep that in mind for the next decade. Thankfully that is still a ways off! :rolleyes1

I cannot believe our trip is DAYS away. Where did this summer go?! Hopefully the next 6 months fly by as fast for you as these have for me!

Thanks for stopping by my PTR intro post!!! Love to have people to chat with, makes it so much more fun!

Love all of your shoppping! I wish we had a disney store, closest one is apprx 2 hrs away. I'm ready to see pics of the disney guest bedroom! I wanted to do our master suite with a mickey inspired twist and my Dh almost had a stroke:rotfl2: so instead my office/art room is going to be a mickey design.

I can think of nothing better than celebrating a birthday with Mickey Mouse and I know it's going to be amazing for you!

Sorry I'm so late getting back on here. We're going Feb 18th -22nd, over Mardi Gras. We'll also being staying at POR, it will be a first for us. We stayed at French Quarter our last trip. Looks like we'll miss you.:sad2: But I have to agree being there on your actual birthday would be great. We did just get in for free dining. We're going because my youngest will be there for a school trip doing the Disney classes. We're crashing her trip.

Hi Katie, somehow I found your link on an old Saratoga Springs thread and followed you over here :) I did a solo trip a few years ago, 24 at the time, and it was fantastic!!! Get up whenever you want, eat wherever you want, go to all the extra magic hours you want! HOORAY!!! What a wonderful way to spend your birthday! Jiko is a fantastic birthday choice, the Mother and I stayed at AKL this past January and had to eat there twice it was so delicious. It is now on our 'favorites list'. Sunshine Seasons is also very nice, we had a beet/goat cheese salad that was so scrumptous, and I have to agree with others about Pecos Bill taco salads. We will be returning there the next time we're at MK. I actually find our enjoyment of the taco salads amusing, but they are really very delicious.

And here all these years I've been feeling sorry for POR, I didn't think many people went there at all, but when looking for Saratoga Springs info I have found so so so many threads on how people love POR. The thought 'I should probably stay there one day to support the place so it doesn't close down' passed through my mind :rotfl2: boy was I wrong!

Hi guys! I'll be back tonight with a proper update, some Disney store shopping pics & my ADR update!!

Talk to you soon!!

Did you write it in invisible ink, 'cause I didn't see it. ;)

Hope all is well and you are just too busy, busy, busy (like the rest of us) to get much DIS time.

Hi!! Welcome! I'm so glad you came over!

I am so glad to hear your solo trip went well! Sometimes I get a tad nervous wondering if I'll have fun, but I know it's all about attitude. I WILL have a super time!!

I feel the same way about POR; I honestly haven't heard much about it and I was so torn. I knew I wanted to stay in a moderate resort but was pretty torn about which one. I also saw some of those POR threads and people just LOVE it, so it sounded good to me!! :thumbsup2 Plus, the fact that it's getting refurbed is a good thing!!

Thanks again, and welcome! :yay:

So I've been absent. A lot. And yes, I feel sufficiently guilty. :upsidedow But I have fun things to report!!

I've had a busy busy few weeks. Don't get me wrong, I like being on the go but sometimes it's nice to slow down and stay home. So that's what I am doing this weekend. This weekend it's me, some popcorn and some Disney movies. Pretty great weekend, huh? :woohoo:

But since I've seen you last, I've been a few places. But first, I have to show off some Baby Cuteness. This is my cousin's little boy Nate. My mom babysat him last weekend and sent me this DARLING picture. I could just eat him UP! I love his little baby belly hanging over his shorts. :lovestruc

First, I went to Chicago to see my brother, SIL and niece Caroline. My new niece is a mere 8 weeks from making her debut in the world and so I wanted to go and see them before their family of 3 turned into a family of 4.

Of course, Aunt Katie took Caroline to the Disney store. And we might have bought a few things. Just a few, honest. :rolleyes1

(The Disney store pictures are on my old camera so I will upload those later. And Yes, I got a NEW CAMERA! My dinosaur was trusty and lived a good long life but he was going downhill fast. So I got a new Sony basic point-and-shoot and I LOVE it!!)

So after buying Ms Caroline a new Daisy doll, a Minnie fork and spoon set, a Minnie sippie cup and a baby Minnie outfit for the new niece, we were back to their house. Here are some candid shots of my girl: I LOVE HER TO PIECES!!!

My jaunt last weekend was up to Minneapolis. My brother Stephen is working at Target Corporate in downtown Minneapolis and lives there also. It was his birthday this week so I got us tickets to see the Twins take on the Yankees. For only knowing VERY little about baseball, it was a VERY cool game! The field is only a few years old and is gorgeous. We have great seats and had a lot of fun! Here are some pics from last weekend. The lovely dark haired gal is my brother's GF Elizabeth. She is a Kindred Disney Spirit. :lovestruc She actually auditioned to be Tinker Bell at Disney World!! She is going this January and she and I talked Disney all weekend, much to my brother's dismay. And not only did we see a good game, there was a Mickey there!! This was one of the Mickey Mouse statues that was in front of the MK a few years ago:

In addition to the game, we also went to the free Como Park Zoo and I got this gem of a picture; I was in a whacky mood, what can I say? :rotfl:

So that's my life thus far. As I said, this weekend is taking it easy, then Labor Day weekend.....fun times ahead!!! I won't ruin the surprise, but it involves at least 4 DIS girls and some eating and some Disney store shopping!! :cool1:

Have a great weekend! For those of you in the path of Irene, please stay safe!!!

You will definitely have a most fabulous time!!! You'll be at Disney! The thing I worried about the most was eating in sit down restaurants on my own, but everyone was so nice, and I had such fun people watching. A bonus is you can get on the rides faster since they try to fill up that last seat, sometimes I'd bypass huge lines because they needed a filler. Sometimes they wouldn't bother with finding someone, but a lot of the time they did.

Your family is so adorable, so nice you got to spend some time with them!

I'm glad to hear everyone was so nice - that makes me feel better! I hope they don't talk about "the gal sitting by herself"! :)

The kiddies are cute, aren't they?! Love em!!

If they did I was oblivious. I was worried about that too. I actually got much more interactive service, since the CMs didn't feel like they were butting in on a conversation they were more attentive when when they came around. Especially at Cindarella's Palace, I had opted not to get my picture taken, the table was ready and there was a huge line, and when my waiter found out he went out of his way to help. He came back and told me Cindarella was on a break, but as soon as she was back he'd take me down and keep an eye on my belongings so I didn't have to cart them all downstairs. He went above and beyond the call of duty! It melted my heart, that is what the Magic is all about :) And many people I struck up conversations with waiting in lines, ect. said they wished they had been brave enough to go on their own when they were younger. Bottom line, you're going to have a fabulous trip!

Your trip to Target Field looks like so much fun! The stadium was just in the planning stages when I spent a summer up in Minneapolis working for a newspaper. I hope to get up there to see the finished product sometime in the next few years.

Both those kids are adorable!

Can't wait to see your Disney Store finds. Now that we've upgraded to the Poly for my October trip, I need to slow down my pre-trip shopping. :rolleyes1

How cute is your niece?! :lovestruc Your cousin's little boy is absolutely adorable, too!

I remember those Mickey Mouse statues in front of MK. I am pretty sure we have pictures and/or video of my brother and my dad with the Red Sox one. They always have to represent.

Your cousin's son and your niece are both adorable. Sounds like you have been very busy, but having tons of fun!

It is a great field, just gorgeous. It's also laid out very nicely, easy to get around, lots of entrances, etc. They did a great job!

Thanks, I think the kids are pretty cute too. :lovestruc

I hope to have my other pictures loaded in a few days. I'll be hitting another Disney store Labor Day weekend, so I'll have lots to share then!
