I read up in the Daily Mail (at which I thought it was a big lie, but I found on the bank of england website about it so it is definitely true now) that they are replacing the person on the face on the £20 note. It is being changed from Sir Edward Elgar to Adam Smith.
I am pleased with the change as I have no idea who Sir Edward Elgar is, but I do know who Adam Smith is. If you are an economist like me, you'll know that Adam Smith is like a God to economists. He is the "Founding Father" of Economics, so to speak, and a lot of works are based from his theories.
Forgive me for my ignorance of Edward Elgar, but I am really glad that Adam Smith is the one replacing him instead of someone I have no idea about.
