when should I book it?

I need a van (or a uhaul lol) we are going from wdw to vero beach for a few days?

Do I need to rent from wdw or will someone pick me up?

Can I drop it off at the airport?

What is a good price?

I need it from Sept 26 to october 1st but if it is a better deal to take it longer I could take it on the 23-oct 1.
We are at wdw from the 22-26 but we have never had a car before.

I looked up a couple and they were over $300.00 for 5 days is this right?

I don't know anythign anbout finding codes.....I called and got a good passholders rate $200.oo but now my ap expires 2 weeks before i go.

Go on Mousesavers.com they have information on the different car rental companies and lots of discount codes which is sometimes just a matter of signing up for a free membership with an airline to use their discount code. We like National, I would check different ways of renting we always rent at and return to the airport. Two weeks before the trip they have a last minute special at National car rental which could be lower then one you already reserved so you can book that instead for a better rate. Linda :)

You will normally get a better price if your rental includes a weekend somewhere.

Check mousesavers for codes.

Generally vans are the most expensive class of vehicle except for convertibles. If you can manage with a large car instead, you will probably save quite a bit. Try to pack light.

Central Florida is a tourist zone that normally does not have drop-off fees for returning at a different location from where the contract originated. You can pick up at WDW and return at MCO. The only company that will come and get you is Enterprise, but I wouldn't go with them if you are planning to drive a fairly long distance; they sometimes charge mileage after a certain allowed limit.

My SIL just booked through a rental car through priceline for $9 a day at the Providence airport!!!

According to MIL, she tried $4 was rejected, $7 was rejected, then priceline suggested $9 and she took it.

I don't know much else about it, but might be worth looking into further.

thanks for the info. I am going to check mousesavers now.

I don't think we can get away with a car. We have two children in car seats which basically takes up the back seat, two adults and we each have a suitcase. Tell me if I am wrong but ZI don't think 4 suitcases will fit in a car? I have had a van for a long time at home and I just assumed we needed one...oh ya two umbrella strollers too.

I can fit that much in a premium car (a big barge car like a Crown Vic). You can always put the strollers at the children's feet. It seems counterintuitive, but it is true: premium cars are normally cheaper than vans, and if you don't actually need 6 or more seats for people, they have more baggage capacity, too. The trunks on them are huge.

I'm assuming that your suitcases are fairly small, but two 27"s should be plenty for two adults and two kids; we routinely do it with only one 27" plus two carry-on bags, and our oldest is 5'8", so his clothes take up a fair amount of space.

Also, Priceline is airport-to-airport only, but if you get lucky with the rate it could pay to keep it for your entire trip. I've done very well with them many many times.

I will have to try and bring my luggae to a local car rental and try the crown vic lol. I know we need 4 suit cases....we have made this trip 4 times now and I need a bag each...I guess I am not a lieght packer :) actually maybey I could get down to 3 but it wouldn't be pretyy lol

Crown Vics are also used by many car service companies in addition to Town Cars and you can fit the 4 suitaces, umbrella strollers and maybe even a body or two in the trunk. You will be fine. Some companies will rent you a Charger or similar full size car. Others have mentioned mousesavers.com is a good start which it is and you can find on site rental places that will come pick you up. My experience is with Hertz, but I know other will do it. They picked me up at my resort, brought me to SOG to fill out all the paperwork. It was quite painless.

Carrentals.com is a great place to start!! You can choose from all different companies at one at the price you want....

Renting a minivan with Budget and picking up at airport is $261.93 incl taxes after $30.00 ecoupon is applied at checkout. Use travelocity code BCD x474200 and ecoupon MUGZ029.

i will check out the code thanks...cheepest I could find was $409.00 on priceline.

I will also check out the crown vic. I have ahad a van for 13 years it would be so nice to drive a car for a week.

thanks again for the help.
