Hi!! I recently ordered a "piece of the magic" from mousesurplus on ebay, a store that sells discontinued merchandise from Disney, I ordered a bedspread that was used at the All Star resort in WDW. Anyway, I received a postcard with my shipment for a website http://mousesurplus.com/directions.html

There is a store in central Florida called Never Never Land and the link above has directions to get to thier store. I have never heard of this store before, they sell discontinued Disney items. Has anyone heard of it? Have you been?
I will definitely have to check it out the next time we go!:thumbsup2

We went to the MouseSurplus store about two years ago Thanksgiving week. They had great stuff - but alot was damaged. They had the beds and tv cabinets from the WL which we wanted to buy but could not figure how to get home. My DF's dad lives in Orlando so we were going to store them at his house. We went back a few days later and they were closed. I eventually got in touch with them and they said there was a "partners problem" and they were relocating. This is probably the new store. We will be down in November of this year and hope to stop by and pick up some things.

It is very close to where I live. And yes, the name of the street is "Detour Road".

I just went to their website and to their site on ebay and everything has been removed from the ebay store?:confused3

Wonder if that has to do with all of the recent eBay changes (like requiring free shipping to be a powerseller and trying to force you to PayPal only). I really miss the old disneyoutlet site (DisneyDeals) as I got some terrific stuff there. Have recommended MouseSurplus to my DNiece recently as she moved into a new place in southern FL.

Site does say that they are "building a bigger and better" store. :sad2:

We have ordered a few things from mousesurplus. But lately, (last year)there really isn't much in the way of park mdse. We too loved disney deals and spent way too much money on that site. I so wish it would come back. I guess they're just sending all the mdse to the outlets now and none for the on-line shoppers.:sad2:

We went a few years ago and felt it was a waste of time and gas. We bought a couple little things, but all of the "good stuff" was "not for sale"! EVery time we'd ask a price on something, we were told sorry, that's only for display. None of it was marked display only! It really annoyed us.

We went about a year ago and had a great time looking around. We bought a few things, including a Sony tv for something like $20. I was just sure it wouldn't work, but it works great. DS14 is using it in his room as I type.

As mentioned above, a lot of things are damaged so you have to look them over well. Big things are brought out from the warehouse, but the men are nice and will go get another one if you're not happy with the one they fetch.

Hmmm... I wonder if we were part of the reason behind their getting closed down on E-Bay...

Without going into all the gory details, we ordered an item from them using "Buy It Now", and immediately sent payment.

It took them over 3 weeks to ship the item.

When we received the item, key parts were broken/shattered. From the type of breakage, and the way the items were packed, it was obvious that the items had been broken BEFORE they were packed.

We contacted them and requested replacement. I received an e-mail stating they would send a replacement ASAP. A week and a half later, no replacement items. We were worried that we would run out of time, so we filed a complaint through Paypal.

Paypal started investigating, and I finally received an e-mail from Mousesurplus asking me to remove the complaint, and that they would send the replacement. I received no replacement (wasn't dumb enough to remove the complaint since you can't re-file). Received an e-mail from Paypal stating that MS stated they had resent the item. I responded with an explanation of what had transpired.

Three weeks later, a big UPS box arrived at the house containing my complete order (unbroken!) and a free comforter from one of the resorts.

In the end the resolution was more than satisfactory. It was more than I was looking for... all I wanted was the broken stuff replaced, and I didn't expect it to take all summer to happen.

Perhaps my story wasn't an isolated one this summer (oh, by the way... the card that came with my replacement order talked about how they don't accept negatives on E-Bay:rolleyes1 )

I haven't been but I did print the directions out yesterday because we plan on going on the 23rd. I have bought stuff from them through ebay without problems.

Their "partner" now sells on Ebay also under the name Surplus Kingdom. I've bought from both places (MouseSurplus and SurplusKingdom) and never had a problem. Never went to the physical store though. Sounds interesting.

i've bought from both mousesurplus & surpluskingdom on ebay, & was very pleased with both (btw, would not recommend gameroomservices, another WDW resort "liquidator". packaging was poor resulting in damaged items, & communication was nonexistant).
i bought a grand floridian comforter:cloud9: , bedskirt, 6 huge matching pillows, as well as shower curtains.

DH & i enjoyed visiting mousesurplus (aka never never land) in may, & plan on visiting again in a few weeks. on our last excursion there, i bought 4 of the GF "ribbon" light-blocking drapes...which wound up costing about 25% of what i would have paid on ebay:banana: , as well as a few smaller items. DH bought 6 outdoor speakers. (interesting note: i noticed signs saying "no negotiating" on certain items, so asked if they could do any better on the non-signed items we were interested in. the very nice gentleman made some surprising offers we couldn't refuse:banana: ).
as we were flying, we did have them ship the items (if purchasing bulky or multiple items, ask them to price out shipping in seperate packages. we saved quite a bit shipping in that manner rather than one large pkg).

all in all, it was a fun side trip (about 30 minutes away), with our only regret being that the larger items we would've loved to have (a few pieces of resort furniture, TVs, ice cream cart, attraction seating) would be cost-prohibitive to ship :sad1:

enjoy!

What does that mean .. "they don't accept negatives"? How do they have a choice? :confused3

They sent a postcard in the shipment that encourages customers to post positive feedback, it specifically states that they DO NOT accept negative feedback, I too found that amusing.;)

Not isolated at all. DH bought a very expensive picture in a frame from them and it arrived in a super thin carboard box and the frame was snapped. ALso it arrived 3 weeks after he paid. It took forever to get it straighted out.

We were there Spring break. They didn't have as much stuff as on some of our visits. We always enjoy the trip, but you never know whether you'll find anything. We're still using two Sony televisions at home that we bought on two separate visits.

It's a toss up. You gotta remember that they get thier stuff from Disney when they do a remodel or change an attraction. So it's definatly a hit or miss as to whether you find something cool or not. You have to visit constantly if you want to find the best deals. And always buy when you see it, and buy the one you see. Sometimes it's not thier fault stuff is broken, it can come that way from Disney.
Kari found some cool things from Food Rocks and Wonders of Life pavillion there, but way more expensive than we could ever afford. I liked thier location here, it used to only be a few miles from our first apt here.

Not sure if those "partner" problems have been worked out. I chased one or both of the partners from both business for over a year with a lawsuit I was handling for a firm I worked for, and it wasn't resolved when I left. But it does sound as if there are deals to be had at the store. I think Mousesurplus has a website with a lot of the large ticket items (such as a monorail door, etc.) listed for sale.
