Never good to see the gutter flying by the window

I already told DH that you ladies warned me that things will only break once he is gone. I plan on having him do so much maintanence in the next few months, he won't know what hit him. He'll be glad to leave. :rotfl:

Tina, if you get lonely head across the bridge to Md for a visit :goodvibes!!! The weather is not any better tho, 20* with wind chill factor of 3*:cold:!! DIL and grands were visiting all week and called when they got home to NC yesterday saying heat problems for 4th time now! Thankfully they have gas and heat pump, so all bundled up in heated room until gas problem could be fixed. Poor girl's had enough monthly trouble to deal with their rental house since DS's been deployed to last a life time! Thankfully he'll be home 2 wks Jan/Feb. :goodvibes. Good luck sweetie while soldier boy is away and stay safe and warm!

It's a new record! My husband has only been gone a little over 3 hours. Now I know things will happen and stuff will break but jeez it's only been 3 hours and so far the gutter at the front of the house was just seen flying by the windows in the back of of my house. I'm then outside in the freezing cold and wind trying to chase the stupid thing down. It is now resting comfortably in the garage because I sure can't reach to replace it.

About an hour ago I hear a loud cracking and thinking great now what. Look out and one of those smallish decorative evergreen trees is now split in half. I guess the wind turned it over. No idea. I have visions in my future of me trying to cut it apart to throw away. Yeah right; I see myself calling for backup because it's stinking cold!

So 3 hours in and already things breaking. This is not setting a good precedent for what's to come. Good thing my love bank is full or my husband would be in deep doodoo for this already:rotfl:

happy new year!!!

Awww, Tina!!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR, sweetie!!

LMAO@flying gutters-im sorry but thats funny. its definately the rules that stuff happens. And whats up with the cold? I had to get new glow plugs in my Diesel beetle because i wore the old ones out starting it-then the next week we lost the windsheild in hubbys truck driving home to Wyoming for Christmas. That produced fun when the MPs called my office looking for me because the mobile glass replacement guy got lost trying to find me on post:rotfl:
I can deal with all this stuff by my sefl-but dang it im tired of it.

Hang in there Tina-and treat your self to a winter break-go down to GA to visit-and the while he works all week shop or go to Tybee island or something.

Its always something with you Tina ;)

:lmao:

Have you taken inventory this morning? I hope no other integral part of your home has blown away.

In the middle of the night, I came out the bed quite quickly after hearing a boom. Getting downstairs it seems that two of the screens fell off and the umbrella on the deck that has a weight at the bottom and is in the middle of the table flew and landed upside down at the back of the deck.

It's like hurricane winds without the bad weather. I guess something is loose in the stove because everytime a big gust of wind happens the stove rattles.:confused3 I'm calling the property manager tomorrow. I'm sure he'll love this honey do chore list:laughing:

I hear you. Things happen and things break when you are alone with no one to help you. Especially in the winter which makes it harder since you have to freeze to death to get things done. I can feel your pain I am going through the same thing right now. I am holding my breath and praying nothing else goes wrong since DH is in the hospital. Been there since Thanksgiving. Hope he gets out in the near future.
